Home sweet home - Freestyle Collage [EN | DE]

Soon the LMAC contest will restart. I'm happily looking forward to the weekly creative task.
But before that, I wanted to contribute one of my more recent freestyle collages to the community.

Bald gehts endlich wieder weiter, mit dem LMAC Contest. Ich freue mich schon riesig auf die wöchentliche Kreativ-Aufgabe.
Aber vorher wollte ich noch eines meiner jüngeren Freestyle Collagen zur Community beitragen.
About my collage
Even though faraway places arouse a fascination in me and I go hiking in distant, foreign places every chance I get, I'm always happy to come home.
After a long hike over mountains, valleys and through dense forests, it is an exciting and sometimes even relieving feeling. Then I enjoy putting my feet up and telling people at home about my adventures.
I was trying to express this feeling in my collage.
Über meine Collage
Auch wenn ferne Orte eine Faszination in mir wecken und ich bei jeder Gelegenheit an fernen, fremden Orten wandern gehe, freue ich mich immer wieder nach Hause zu kommen.
Nach einer langen Wanderung über Berge, Täler und durch dichte Wälder, ist es ein spannendes und manchmal sogar erleichterndes Gefühl. Dann freue ich mich darauf, meine Füße hochzulegen und daheim von meinen Abenteuern zu erzählen.
Ich habe versucht, dieses Gefühl in meiner Collage zum Ausdruck zu bringen.
Materials
These are the materials I have used to create my collage. In addition to doing the photobashing, I also painted details myself (shadows, lights).
I also 3d modeled the house and part of the landscape.
For the complete work on the collage, I used only GIMP and Blender (both open source).
And for the 3D part I used only free (public domain, CC-0) textures from https://polyhaven.com and self-made procedural materials. (All non-procedural textures were procedurally modified).

Materialien
Dies sind die Materialien die ich zum Erstellen meiner Collage verwendet habe. Zusätzlich zum Photobashing, habe ich auch Details selbst gemalt (Schatten, Lichter).
Zudem hab ich das Haus und einen Teil der Landschaft 3d modelliert.
Ich habe für die komplette Arbeit an der Collage, ausschließlich GIMP und Blender (beides Open Source) verwendet.
Für den 3D Teil habe ich nur freie (Public Domain, CC-0) Texturen von https://polyhaven.com/ und selbst erstellte, prozedurale Materialien verwendet. (Alle nicht-prozeduralen Texturen wurden prozedural modifiziert.)

What is LMAC?
LMAC is a great community for artists of all skill levels. The name of the community is an abbreviation and stands for "Let's make a collage".
Just take a look. Even if you think you are not an artist, LMAC will probably prove you wrong.

We are currently building our own photo/image library that we can use as a image source for our collages, but also every Hiver beyond LMAC is very welcome to use the images in it.

This collage is full of warmth and sentiment. I think of the phrase, Keep the home fires burning. Candles in the window, happy adventurer returns to the hearth where a welcome is always certain.

It's really relieving to read, because it must have been a successful attempt to convey that with my collage.
I often play around with light and color moods until I think I've achieved what I intented. Sometimes I do this for far too long - until my objectivity is a bit blurred.

Since I left my country I feel like I'm on an eternal journey, I think I still have a long way to go to feel like I'm coming back home!

It will all be fine soon, I'm very sure of that. Not because it's not an eternal journey. Of course it's an eternal journey, an epic, eternal journey. But because someone who is able to do such an enormous venture will ultimately achieve what is desired.
And someday your heart will feel it somewhere where there are the people you love and have already met and the people you will meet one day.
