I'm glad you stopped by.
Today at midnight (UTC) it will come to an end again, round #202 of the LMAC contest.
What a pity! I would really have liked to make 5 collages with the nice kangaroo from the official photo template for this round. :-)
(As I'm a member of the LMAC jury, I'm just taking part for fun. My collage will therefore not be eligible for the final.)

Heut um Mitternacht (UTC) geht sie wieder zu Ende, die Runde #202 des LMAC Contests.
Schade eigentlich. Denn ich hätte gerne 5 Collagen mit dem netten Känguru, aus der offiziellen Bild-Vorlage für diese Runde, gemacht. :-)
(Da ich Mitglied der LMAC-Jury bin, nehme ich zum Spaß teil. Meine Collage wird deshalb nicht ins Finale wählbar sein.)
About my collage
I felt very sorry for the poor, caged kangaroo in the template photo for round #202. That's probably how almost everyone felt and it even affected a few of the collages.
The same goes for my collage - in fact, this is what it is all about.
It's about the freedom of thoughts and dreams. Nobody can lock them up, they give hope and create motivation.
One day I hope the poor creature will be released from its prison. Do we still need zoos?
Über meine Collage
Mir tat das arme, eingesperrte Känguru im Vorlagen-Foto zu Runde #202 sehr leid. So ging es wahrscheinlich fast allen und das wirkte sich sogar auf ein paar der Collagen aus.
Ebenso auf meine Collage - Es macht sie gänzlich aus.
Darin geht es um die Freiheit der Gedanken und Träume. Niemand kann sie einsperren, sie machen Hoffnung und schaffen Motivation.
Ich hoffe, dass das arme Wesen irgendwann wieder freigelassen wird. Brauchen wir noch Tierpärke?
Materials
These are the materials I have made use of to create my collage. Additionally to Photo Bashing, I also painted some details myself (shadows, lights, the wooden post, the rainbow...).
For the work on the collage I only used the open source image editor GIMP.

Materialien
Dies sind die Materialien die ich zum Erstellen meiner Collage verwendet habe. Zusätzlich zum Photobashing, habe ich auch Details selbst gemalt (Schatten, Lichter, den Holzpfosten, den Regebogen...).
Ich habe für die komplette Arbeit an der Collage, das open source Bildbearbeitungsprogramm GIMP verwendet.

What is LMAC?
LMAC is a great community for artists of all skill levels. The name of the community is an abbreviation and stands for "Let's make a collage".
Just take a look. Even if you think you are not an artist, LMAC will probably prove you wrong.

Are you a good photographer and would like to contribute some nice good quality photos in exchange for good votes and tribute?
We are currently building our own photo/image library that we can use as a image source for our collages, but also every Hiver beyond LMAC is very welcome to use the images in it.

That collage is perfect. Not one word needs to be said. There is the tourist, taking a picture of the poor caged animal. There is no awareness of the animal's suffering. No awareness of the animal as a living, feeling being. Take a picture.
The barbed wire is not attractive, but it is necessary. And there the animal sits, dreaming of another life. The dream will continue until the very spirit is driven from the poor creature.
It's a wonderful, expressive collage. Almost a manifesto.

So many living beings share this tragic fate. I hope mankind will one day realize that the only way to experience happier and more authentic animals is with a zoom lens in the wild.
