An Afternoon Walk Along Nusa Dua Beach

One afternoon, around 2 pm, I decided to take a walk along the pavement of Nusa Dua Beach. The weather was perfect, with a nice blue sky and white clouds. Although it was a bit hot, I didn't feel it thanks to the gentle breeze from the ocean.

The pavement runs along the sand, with a lot of greenery, bushes, and trees along the beach. Occasionally, some palm trees adorned certain hotels. I like that beaches in Bali are never private, so I could walk easily along the shore.

As I walked, I enjoyed the view of the turquoise water. The sound of waves was like music; no need for Spotify this time.

I saw people eating and drinking at the restaurants belonging to the luxurious hotels, but I skipped those places and kept walking. Children were laughing and playing, building sandcastles. I also heard bells as people on bicycles passed behind me, so I moved aside to let them pass.

I noticed a sign advising where people can swim on the beach. Another sign caught my eye, showing how far places like Perth, Dubai, and France are from Bali. It was amusing to think about those distant places while standing on a beach in Bali.

I stopped by a grotesquely detailed Balinese guardian spirit statue. In the background, I saw statues of Rama and Laksmana, characters from the Indian epic Ramayana, which is popular in Bali. I didn't walk there because I began to feel hot and a bit tired.

Feeling thirsty, I walked back to where I started, near the Sofitel hotel. Nearby, I found a local food stall. I had some delicious local food and a refreshing drink. Much better than the fancy restaurants!

Well, I would say differently if I had the budget for those luxurious restaurants.
