The best midweek: Hesperia Playa el Agua Hotel- La mejor mitad de semana: Hotel Hesperia Playa el Agua
If there's one thing I love, it's doing things without planning. They always turn out to be more fun and more genuine. This time was no exception.
My sister had to travel to Margarita Island to sign the sale of an apartment and asked me if I wanted to go. She asked me that last Sunday, to travel the next day, Monday. It was only for two days. I did not hesitate to accept for a moment. Also because Dad's grave is on that island and I wanted to visit it.
Fortunately, the school vacation season has not yet started in my country, so both tickets and lodging are available almost immediately and at very cheap prices.
The quick plan we made was to get to the island and go to the Church of the Virgen del Valle, then go to the cemetery to visit Dad's grave and finally, go to the hotel in Playa el Agua.

Si hay algo que adoro, es hacer las cosas sin planificarlas. Siempre resultan más divertida y más genuinas. Esta vez no fue la excepción.
Mi hermana tenía que viajar a la Isla de Margarita a firmar la venta de un apartamento y me preguntó si yo quería ir. Eso me lo preguntó el domingo pasado, para viajar al día siguiente, lunes. Era para estar solo dos días. No dudé en aceptar ni un instante. Además porque la tumba de papá está en esa isla y yo quería visitarla.
Afortunadamente, aún no ha comenzado la temporada vacacional de los colegios en mi país, por lo que se consigue tanto la boletaría como el alojamiento de manera casi inmediata y a precios muy económicos.
El plan relámpago que hicimos, fue llegar a la isla e ir a la Iglesia de la Virgen del Valle, luego ir al cementerio a visitar la tumba de papá y por último, ir al hotel en Playa el Agua.
We would spend only two nights on this paradisiacal island. We arrived at the hotel and were greeted with the wonderful welcome cocktails they give in the all-inclusive plans. I had never been to this hotel before. The times we had been there with the whole family, we arrived at the Hotel Flamenco, in the same sector of Playa El Agua.
The Hotel Hesperia Playa El Agua is simply spectacular. Although we did not get a room with a pool view, it is not really important because what I needed was to get out of my city. I have had a lot of problems and this invitation fell from heaven.

Pasaríamos solo dos noches en esta paradisíaca isla. Llegamos al hotel y nos recibieron con los maravillosos cocteles de bienvenida que dan en los planes "todo incluido". Yo nunca había estado en este hotel. Las veces que habíamos ido toda la familia, llegamos al Hotel Flamenco, en el mismo sector Playa El Agua.
El Hotel Hesperia Playa El Agua, es simplemente espectacular. Aunque no nos tocó una habitación con vista a la piscina, no es realmente importante porque lo que yo necesitaba era salir de mi ciudad. He tenido muchos problemas y esta invitación me cayó del cielo.
That's how we spent the rest of the afternoon. The next day, while my sister went to her appointment to sign for the sale of her apartment, I would lounge around, swim in the pool and walk on the beach. But instead, I wanted to visit the Hotel Flamenco because the memories I have of that hotel are wonderful. The Christmas vacations we spent there for several years were magical.
These hotel vacations were before my brothers decided to move to the island and buy their homes.
So it was worth the trip to the Flamenco Hotel. But I didn't count on running into this:

Así pasamos el resto de la tarde. Al siguiente día, mientras mi hermana iba a su cita para firmar la venta de su apartamento, yo me dedicaría a holgazanear, nadar en la piscina y caminar por la playa. Pero en vez de eso, quise visitar el Hotel Flamenco porque los recuerdos que tengo de ese hotel son maravillosos. Las vacaciones decembrinas que pasamos allí durante varios años, fueron mágicas.
Estas vacaciones en hoteles fueron antes de que mis hermanos decidieran mudarse a la isla y comprar sus casas.
Así que valía la pena hacer el recorrido hasta el Hotel Flamenco. Pero no conté con que me encontraría con esto:
My heart dropped to my feet. The hotel was completely abandoned and vandalized. There was nothing left of that beautiful place with two swimming pools, beautiful and cozy facilities.
The last time I went there was thirteen years ago, as I remember I was almost full-term pregnant and I wanted to take a few days off in that hotel that had left me with such beautiful memories.
But not for a moment did I think I would find it in this condition. Or rather, that I would not find any hotel and instead, there would only be ruins of what was once a beauty.

El corazón se me cayó hasta los pies. El hotel estaba completamente abandonado y vandalizado. No quedaba nada de aquel hermoso lugar con dos piscinas, hermosas y acogedoras instalaciones.
La última vez que fui, fue hace trece años, pues recuerdo que estaba embarazada casi a término y quise darme unos días de descanso en ese hotel que tan bonitos recuerdos me había dejado.
Pero ni por un instante pensé que lo encontraría en estas condiciones. O mejor dicho, que no encontraría hotel alguno y en su lugar, solo habrían ruinas de lo que otrora fue una belleza.
Well, no way, I thank life for having given me such beautiful moments and I am more than grateful for the moments I am living and for the ones to come.
So I went back to the hotel where I was staying and I would stay quietly on the hotel's beach.
The Hesperia hotel was, as I predicted, practically empty. That pleases me a lot because I am not one of those people who like a lot of people in a pool and because the attention given by the hotel employees is much better.

Pues ni modo, agradezco a la vida por haberme regalado momentos tan bonitos y más que agradecida por los momentos que estoy viviendo y por los que están por venir.
Así que me regresé al hotel en donde me estaba hospedando y me quedaría tranquila en la playa del hotel.
El hotel Hesperia, estaba, como predije prácticamente vacío. Eso me agrada mucho porque no soy de las personas que les guste mucha gente en una piscina y porque la atención que brindan los empleados del hotel es mucho mejor.
So I spent two wonderful days of delicious sunshine, infinitely grateful for such a wonderful gift. These are unexpected blessings that come into our lives to give us color.
My son? At home, with his aunt and uncle! First time out without him. I really needed him.

Regresamos hace tan solo dos días y aun siento que estoy flotando en una nube de felicidad. Pero la verdad es que no queríamos volver a casa, la estábamos pasando tan divino, tan bien, tan relajadas que no queríamos retornar a la realidad.
We returned only two days ago and I still feel like I am floating on a cloud of happiness. But the truth is that we didn't want to go back home, we were having such a great time, so good, so relaxed that we didn't want to go back to reality.
To say goodbye, after check out, we were presented with two cocktails called "Rastafari", consisting of vodka, orange juice, grenadine and a touch of lemon juice.
We had the drink by the pool and toasted to ourselves, to our life and with the promise that the next time we went to this hotel, we would do it with the whole family.

Que triste, en 3 años el hotel desapareció. No quedan más que escombros y bellos recuerdos, de vacaciones y gratos momentos en familia.

Margarita sigue siendo un bonito lugar, eso es bueno. No tuve la oportunidad de conocer, pero sé que la vida me dará la oportunidad. Que bueno que hayas podido visitar la tumba de tu papá.

Claro que sí conocerás esa hermosa isla. Sigue siendo bella y aunque las avenidas icónicas de la isla como la 4 de mayo, ya forma parte del pasado. Las tiendas cerradas y quebradas.
Y vsitar a papá era algo que necesitaba mucho también. No quería que estuviese tan solito.

Me alegra tanto que hayas podido disfrutar ese par de días fuera de la rutina y en el mar, también me gustan las temporadas bajas, no me agradan los lugares muy concurridos.
Es una pena lo del hotel Flamenco, es impresionante cómo puede abandonarse y destruirse una propiedad así.

Si, eso de viajar en temporada no es lo que me gusta. Detesto le bululú. Del Flamenco, si, da tristeza. Era un hotel precioso y su comida divina. Hacían actividades diarias en la piscina y frente a la playa; eran actividades muy divertidas.
Ahora quiero ahorrar para esos viajes que son tan necesarios, sobre todo para las personas como yo, que aman viajar. Hacía raaaaaaaaaaatoo que no lo hacía 😂
Sé lo revitalizante que eso puede ser, en mi caso, la playa nos queda a dos horas y media de donde vivimos, hemos ido tres veces en 6 años y a veces me pregunto, por qué no hacemos un esfuerzo por ir con más frecuencia, siendo algo que disfruto tanto.
Me alegra mucho que ahora tengas en tus planes viajar y pasarla bien.

Si, estando relativamente cerca, es bueno ir al menos una vez por mes. Es necesario amiguita. Se recargan energías, se le pone combustible al alma y en el mar se deja lo malo, que las olas se lleven toda le pesadez, las energías que no estén en una frecuencia positiva. Yo espero hacerlo también un poco más seguido.
