Magestic Mountains and Stunning Scenery - Odle d'Eores Dolomites ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ”

There are so many hikes to choose from in the Dolomites it's hard to pick which one to go. After what seemed like an age on All Trails trying to decide I said I give up you pick, and this is where we ended up.

The hike we ended up doing was a roughly 10k around the base of the Odle d'Eores range on the west side of the Dolomites. The start of the hike was already 1000 metres above sea level if I remember correctly.

By comparison the tallest mountain in Wales Y Eryri (Snowdon) is around 1085m.

The views though ere something else, it was peaking into what was further ahead into the Dolomites.

The stark nakedness of the huge crown of the mountain as it rises above the lush green forest below.

The mountain below is we believe after some research may be Tullen which is the highest in the Odle d'Eores ranges. You cant see it in the photos but the their is a Cross on top of the mountain which looks tiny from down there but we googled it and its huge!

Just before this section of the walk we stopped for a break and identified a new bird we don't have in the UK called the Nothern Nutcracker its part of the Corvid Family. I was like that reminds me of a Jay buts its not a Jay!

We also found some Alpine Chamois on the side of the mountain 3 in total.

Thankfully we brought your binoculars with us!

This little sticky out of earth we walked along made you feel you were hanging over the edge of the Earth. The trees below seemed miles away. It seems from the photo like it was a cliff edge, there was some land either side but scary stood on the end non the less!

Lino didn't seem phased at all by the height but he is a very agile dog to be fair!

Here you can see the path along the top and the sloping hills beneth heading down to the forest below.

Here's some of Lino, eagerly waiting for us to catch up. 4 Legs are better than 2 going up sleep inclines that's for sure!

I do wonder if he is looking at the view with the same awe as us or is he just wondering how fast he could run down of he tried ha ha

In sections some of the paths had eroded away from land slips and these wooden bridges of sorts were added to help you get across. Not going to lie some of these felt high up and bit sketchy but we walked on over time regardless.

We did freak ourselves out looking at animal feet marks in the mud, we were worried for a second it may be a bear before our instincts kicked and we realised it was a cow hoof! We should now this as we both grew up around farming communities.

We laughed about it a lot - Read too much about where the bears were the night before ha ha

Just before the walk we treated ourselves to a tea and a Coissant - It has been nice drinking herbal teas instead of the usual British Cuppa as not every shop has black tea of if they they don't always have milk!

Overall glad we picked this route, felt like we did a proper hike in the mountains =D

I'm not a dog fan, but aren't you afraid he'll fall? Just seeing this photo gave me anxiety, hehe. It's a beautiful post, it reminds me of the mountains of Alaska, they have a touch of gray.
