A Little Town with Interesting Street Art - Chiusa, Italy 🇮🇹
Walking through a small down at the entrance to the Dolomites we walked through an underpass we were created with a full wall of art which made me chuckle.
Some locals I assume youth have added their owns little changes and tags here and there too.
I really liked the Renault 5 and the Ford Tractor as well!
I thought it was a great use to creative art in the community to brighten up what would be a plain boring underpass. It made it inviting, a more welcoming friendly place as I know some underpasses have a not to nice feeling when walking by passing especially at night.
The below pieces were on high on a view point overlooking the town. We discovered these whilst out GeoCaching and was chuffed to discover more street art,
We sat overlooking the town for a number of hours biding our time and relaxing on a bench. I collected some horse Chestnuts too and made my own art in the form of a face - I named her Shirley.
I left her there in the hope that she will bring a smile to someone’s face.
The next culture took me by surprise as it's based upon one of my favourite prehistoric figurines the Woman of Willindorf. She is seen as figure of beauty and is one of the oldest carvings we have of a Woman. I found it heart-warming to see a sculpture paying homage so our ancient ancestors. Still all those thousands of years later the woman this was based is still appealing to Women today. Makes me want to well up at the thought of unlost connection when so much is lost to modern life.
The next series of photos are from around the little town itself. It's a beautiful little place with stunning views and a lovely atmosphere.
We stayed here for 2 nights in total and got a real feel of the town and it's people - very quaint, kind and welcoming was the vibe I got.
There was a street market on on of the days with Women making food to sell right there in a square which was lovely to see.
