Tonight, I decided to change my routine a bit and ventured into an area of the historic district that I don't usually explore often. The air felt unusually cold, and even though there were a few people walking around, the atmosphere had a different weight to it, almost as if time had stood still. I set out to photograph some iconic landmarks: the port captaincy, the famous Plaza del Águila, and the Banco de Venezuela building in that area.

​As I adjusted my camera, I was struck by how the artificial light reflected off the old structures, creating contrasts I rarely notice during the day. Even though there were people strolling around me, the images I managed to capture convey a profound sense of solitude and nostalgia—a kind of melancholy that seems to have settled over the city following the recent events.

It was a necessary exercise for me; getting lost among old streets and buildings that hold so much history helps me process what we are going through. Sometimes, architecture tells us truths that words cannot describe

Esta noche decidí cambiar un poco la rutina y me aventuré por una zona del casco histórico que no suelo explorar con frecuencia. El aire se sentía inusualmente frío y, aunque había algunas personas caminando por ahí, el ambiente tenía un peso distinto, casi como si el tiempo se hubiera detenido. Me propuse fotografiar algunos puntos icónicos: la capitanía de puerto, la famosa Plaza del Águila y la sede del Banco de Venezuela de esa zona.

​Mientras ajustaba la cámara, me llamó la atención cómo la luz artificial se reflejaba en las estructuras antiguas, creando contrastes que rara vez noto durante el día. Aunque había gente paseando a mi alrededor, las imágenes que logré capturar transmiten una sensación profunda de soledad y nostalgia, una especie de melancolía que parece haberse instalado en la ciudad tras los últimos acontecimientos.

Fue un ejercicio necesario para mí; perderme entre calles antiguas y edificios que guardan tanta historia me ayuda a procesar lo que estamos viviendo. A veces, la arquitectura nos cuenta verdades que las palabras no alcanzan a describir.
