Stardust Path, Poetry
Stardust Path
steps between
the distance
columns and shade
through breeze
I was there; I waited
my shadow etched
the marble to onyx
undulating, pacing
granting, offering
movement, perspective
ripples, sensation
felt even by stone
at times
steps between
my tear fall
beams and particles
relief to the in-climate
whetted the gems
made them glitter
shine forever
even at a distance
too subtle, quiet
you preferred
glittery asphalt
boulevards and strips
pyrite, blinding
tinsel and saline
self-serving
foundations; lift you
lower the disagreeable
those at a different level
mirrored platters
a fun-house reflection
trim enough
if you don’t look too long
or from a distance
cutlery sharp
cutting diamond tears
from your cuffs
bone needles
borrowed, pilfered
from starlet corsets
stitching, replacing
jewels with rhinestones
steps between
the distance
all along
your stardust path
