I was accused the other day of being... and I quote ... miserable.

The individual in question, to my knowledge, has never met me in real life. Honestly, I think most find me annoyingly positive ... smiling for no reason and talking to strangers.

They do perhaps wish I would talk a little less about politics. I wish I talked less about politics, but the current political stakes are high.

Actual democracy is at risk, or perhaps finally possible, now that the veil of corruption we have been operating under is lifting

So besides resisting authoritarianism and speaking out for the health of the young, I think I live a peaceful and beautiful life.

Today for instance, I spent two hours enjoying our last bit of snow fun and went sledding. Yesterday, I went ice skating. I eat good food and a love what I do.

How could I be viewed as miserable?

I have read your work ... said this online individual.

Oh ... well ... I wasn't miserable at that point, but rather pleased.

Smiling in fact. Dude ... went from a pain in my online tuckus to my favorite Net denizen. LOL.

I get where Internet Iggy was coming from.

I first began writing poetry to get over a broken heart, and so if you read my earlier work, I wouldn't blame you for thinking I am a Maudlin Maggie.

Even now, if I am having a bad day, I may just, very well, work it out through poetry and metaphor. The let anyone who cares to see it, see it. Beats bourbon and heavy eye liner tracks.

But honestly, I am doing okay.

I Got Up, Sat Down, Wrote You This Poems

Music to weep by ...

be it an ode, limerick, or elegy
a sonnet, dactyl, or allegory
we, poets, are adept and bereft
quite fond indeed
when writing of the verse
at immortalizing the very worse

IMG_1534 (1).jpeg

things overall are fine or rather grand
an off day, blasé, a little bland
but we pick up a pen, suddenly …
here strums the blues
a sunny romantic epic goes wrong
life becomes a country & western song

IMG_1488 (2).jpeg

so I would like to take just this one day
to clear the air, if you’ll allow and I may

a desire to make a write meaningful
and pack a punch
will transform an anti-climatic split
into a gambit of Russian Roulette

IMG_1490 (2).jpeg

I know …

some of my poetry is bleak and stark
just me laughing last, flirting with the dark

IMG_1528.jpeg

no te preocupe
I’m doing fine

IMG_1490.jpeg

I got up, sat down, and wrote you this poem
and made it rhyme
proof and exhibit one …
I’m having a good time

Should you ever find yourself heartbroken and blue ... you'll never be a blue as Chris Isaak. So you might as well get happy.

Those stakes I alluded to. Have a listen and remember, it is easily dealt with if we just say no.

A little more Chris Isaak from the Forever Blue recording. It really is a maudlin masterpiece ... cathartically spellbinding for the heartbroken and just plain magic for the guitar plucking a masterful falsetto.

These types of parasitic vermin possess no creativity or sense of purpose of their own and live to suck off of yours.
I think it's worse in a real life setting where it's a person one cares for who is miserable but somehow vampires up into existence and actually debilitates their prey, sucking away energy, happiness, and creative motivation through miserable abuse patterns, not that I would know anything about that..

Nice poetry, I really like this stanza, packed with meaning:

a desire to make a write meaningful
and pack a punch
will transform an anti-climatic split
into a gambit of Russian Roulette

Thanks for sharing, have a great day!

It can be tough sometimes and we do not always fall in love with those that will love us best. Yeah, having someone you love lobby insults is worse.

To be honest, I find online insults interesting. Generally, speaking actual experience is not motivating them but something from the mind of the insulter.

The individual in this case has a very skewed lens through which they view everything. Really, unless you think just like them, it's eternal damnation for you. So there is that. Hard to take them seriously when they have narrowed their mind to this extent. Dualistic thinking has one seeing suffering where it was actually the release of suffering and the growth of spirit.

The growth of spirit is very threatening to a mind fed on fear and judgement.

Hahahaha. Miserable.

I was almost going to leave that comment just as is. I'm still thinking about it, actually. 😁

You're less spiteful than I am. I would have written a poem for the Jack in question.
