Dutch Home and Interior Design Fair - "Beurs Eigen Huis" | Netherlands
Finally, I have managed some time to write this post. Life has been crazy, and I barely get time to focus on my creative skills. Training program, software course, therapies, and daily life hustle somehow keep me busy. A busy life is good, but I sometimes overdo everything, which is not okay. As a result, I get tired so easily. Anyway, today's post is going to be a niche post; it's not about my well-being. It's related to my passion that I love the most in life.
It's been more than 3 years since I have been staying in the Netherlands, and finally, I have decided to pursue my career. I think it's time after taking a long break. So, to start my career, which I am passionate about, I realized that it's very important to understand Dutch Culture and system. It's better late than never... This decision was not easy to make, but holding past was not a solution for the long term. So, I have started going to different events... As a result, not only am I getting inspiration, but I am also learning a lot...
A few weeks ago, my mentor/trainer told me about the event called Beurs Eigen Huis. She got my ticket and said, You should go, it will be good for you... This fair/event was basically on Dutch architecture and interior design. Those who were thinking of buying their home, renovating their house, or building a house from scratch, this event was for them. Of course, anyone can go... As an architect, I am always passionate about home decor and interiors, so I was very excited about this event.

The event was in the city; Utrecht, the Netherlands. The event location was a very prominent spot and was not far from the train station. From the train station, it was a 10-minute walk...So, finding this event location was not a tough job for me. I was a little bit nervous because I don't talk to people often, and I find it very difficult to interact with people, especially strangers, recently. So, this short walk helped to clear my mind before entering the event hall.

I have been to Utrecht several times, but never managed to write about it. It's a beautiful city and I personally love this city a lot. Hopefully, one day I will dump all the amazing photos I have taken so far on Hive. But today, I am just gonna write about the event and my experience...
So, the entrance of the event was very attractive, and I forgot to take photos. I genuinely had no plan to take photos to write a post, these photos I took for my professional purposes and ideas...But later I thought to share with everyone...
After entering the event hall, I was surprised to see how well everything was decorated...I am not so sure if you are into interior design and home decor, but trust me, these types of events give many more ideas and product details than looking at social media. Not only do you get to know about new, smart products for the smart home, but you can also find budget-friendly options. I know everybody finds IKEA very convenient when it comes to minimalist and modern interiors, but looking at different options helps you visualize your dream home easily. What was my job here? My job was to look at the products, ideas, and pricing, and enrich my knowledge. I have never practiced architecture in the Netherlands, so events like this are always helpful for me.

Many companies came to showcase their products at this event. With the help of technologies, they showcased their products. It was like they were there to help you find solutions for your home, making things easier. Work smarter, not harder - some nowadays prefer simple home design; of course, it varies from client to client. I don't know how to explain my experience to you in words. All I can say is that when it comes to home design problems, there are always solutions and options. I learned a lot of new products, easy solutions...
Even though these companies make a lot of promises to help with houses and interiors but sometimes design solutions can be simply done by the homeowners. Anyway, I talked to different companies, collected samples, and asked about their products. As an architect, my biggest advantage is getting tons of samples and catalogs for free...Because they know I can be their potential client... :D

There was a great deal to learn about the new technology and materials. Even though these demo interior items might be very common, there was so much to explore for me. I always think a designer's eye, perspective, and point of view are completely different than others. Following the modern era of architecture, it's crucial to understand the sustainability of the material. I brought some samples of recycled materials, pretty impressive... When you are an architect, companies will give you tons of free samples and catalogs...

This post is not about promotion; I am not trying to convince anyone to do interior or hire an interior designer or an architect; it's up to the individual's choice. Besides, doing interior is an expensive process and it costs a lot of money. Nowadays, with the help of AI and social media, many clients do their interior by themselves, which is totally fine...But this type of event really helps to explore the options for a home...
My architectural life started in Bangladesh and then Ukraine, and now in the Netherlands, so the knowledge and ideas I am gathering constantly are quite diverse...I still have a lot to learn...
This post took me almost a month to write. I don't know why, but I started writing this post a few weeks ago and couldn't finish it until now. It's bizarre, but it is what it is...Not sure what stopped me, but I am glad I could finish this post somehow...
Love

It's great that you saved photos of the event; everything is beautiful, very well done, and the attention to detail is evident.
It's wonderful that you're continuing with your career, but please don't overload yourself with work. Keeping busy helps with daily life, but too much work is harmful to people's health and mental well-being.
I also find it hard to sit down and write; sometimes it takes me three or four days to complete a post. The important thing is that you don't stop, even if progress is slow.
You'll pick up speed soon enough without even realizing it.
Have a great month, I'm so glad I read your post, take care.
That's actually my biggest fear, you know, because I always push myself due to circumstances and forget about my well-being. When the reality of life and necessity hit me, I kind of pushed myself to the edge to pursue something. As a result, different issues come up with depression and disappointment...
Really, but mine takes longer, and to be honest, I am still trying to figure out why. Another truth is I kinda lost my writing skill, I cannot find words sometimes, even though I don't have any language issues...Maybe I just need more time to heal because the treatment was insanely difficult...
I hope so too... Let's see if I can write a travel post next time. I have so many memories and photos...Thank you so much for always supporting me, I really appreciate that...
Great pictures and the designs look very modern. Did you try sitting on those couches? Are they actually comfortable? I find a lot of minimalist and modern designs that I love tend to result in not very practical or convenient furniture :)
These designs are modern and very minimalistic...But yes, not according to everyone's choice, I would say...Yes, I sat on the couch from the first picture, and it was actually comfy... My sister is currently using the second couch design, and so far, it has been comfortable, she said. She also mentioned that it is very easy to clean...It's essential to focus on the comfort and ergonomically designed furniture rather than selecting furniture based on design solely...
It's true, and that's why you always need to check before purchasing any furniture, because even though many companies say that they design furniture according to human ergonomics, there are still flaws...
Beautiful photos, dramatic sky like it's soon to rain, lovely interior design with elegant color pallette/selection. This must be a really exciting event, I'm glad you didn't miss it. Must also be excitng to get free catalogs and samples. Thank you very much for sharing. 💕
Yes, it was a very cloudy and cold day... You have noticed the photos perfectly...It was actually very helpful to get all those interior books and catalogs. Most of them are companies' portfolios, so you get to know a lot about their products and services...It was indeed a nice event for me...
Welcome back for one one of your ever more infrequent posts! 😉
This is definitely the sort of exhibition I love. A place where the professionals (as you yourself are) share ideas with the clueless like me!
The only issue for me is I get loads of ideas i want to try out but not having loads of cash to blow, and infinitely more enthusiasm than skill, usually end up with me spending a fortune and ending up with a mess 🤣
Really nice to see you sharing some 'normality' and I so hope you're still becoming stronger with each passing day.
Health and happiness to you Priyan and take care always.

🤣, no no, we all know something regarding home 😄
😂 That's why you need an architect or an interior designer for a budget-friendly solution...I should pitch you my business idea next time... 😝
But yes, renovating or doing the interior of a house is really expensive...I can't deny that...
Thanks a lot, Nathen... Always appreciate your feedback...Good to see you around...

Thank you so much for the curation... By the way, this event was in Utrecht, near the central station... Jaarbeursplein...😁
Jaarbeursplein i think :)
Oh yes, my shitty pronunciation... I should have checked the spelling at least...😅
Hi , you might want to check your witness votes , i saw your name voting for 3 witnesses that are no longer active ;)
Oh I didn't check it long time, going to check...
First of all, I am very happy that I got to read your writing after two months and I am also happy to read that you have now started the activity and have finished the work from which you took a break. You have shown very cute pictures and you have enjoyed the event very much. It was very informative for you. So I will say that you should always be happy and keep moving and you should give time to your field and pay attention to your job as well. I am very happy. Great. And I pray that you will always be happy and I am also building my new house. We live in a village. You know what village life is like in Bangladesh and Pakistan. How are the houses there? There are not many valuable things, but I have also tried to design a nice house in a village style. I will send you pictures. Thank you very much. I really liked your article. I enjoyed seeing your journey.
