Humility is not Timidity

Today I want to consider Timidity and humility, because recently there has been a misconception between humility and timidity. humility is all about being humble, being valuable to learning, graping life with the new lessons and opportunities, also maximizing it wisely. It is an effective personal development which brings about honest self-reflection. But timidity is described as lack of confidence, a quality of lacking self-assurance, courage, or bravery. Humility makes room for new knowledge and paves the way for attraction, it is about acknowledging our hidden skills, talent, and character, Timidity brings about downgrading of ourselves, doubtfulness in our abilities, it makes one feel less important.

Something happened few days ago, when I sat down to pounder over my reaction, I was marveled and excited knowing that I have grown, because before now, my reactions to issues when they happened was always unpleasant, after I had reacted the way I felt good, I turned out to regret my actions, I was offended and hurt by my friend, which i would have retaliated, keep malice with her for a long time, but i see myself been calm and quiet, although i was hurt deeply, but i found myself apologising, which brought about peace in my mind. after the incident i asked myself the meaning of what i did, the answer was that i have grown, and i have also opened up my heart to embrace corrections and learn endurance.

Humility is a great gift, that when we possess it, it speaks without us opening our mouth...it paves way for us to celebrate peoples gifts, but it doesn't mean we have to shrink from using our own gift. Humility is expressing our strength over our weaknesses, it's always pleasant but it is possible. Humility is honorable and it comes with courage, humility does not mean dying in silence, but it's our ability to open up politely, and such courageous acts should not be confused with timidity. Our ability to openly engage through the expression of our humility is not timidity but it is courage.

Being humble is not timidity, and it's not a weakness, that others should capitalize on, but it is a building process to a greater future, which also open doors of opportunities to as many who practice it.
