Leyendo un libro sobre “La Capilla Sixtina” // Reading a book about "The Sistine Chapel"

Si bien he podido viajar a ciertas partes del mundo, nunca he logrado visitar Italia y menos aún el Vaticano; así que mucho del arte, arquitectura o monumentos solo he podido conocer en otros medios. En esta ocasión leí un libro sobre “La Capilla Sixtina”, publicado en el 2013.

While I have been able to travel to certain parts of the world, I have never managed to visit Italy, let alone the Vatican; so much of the art, architecture or monuments I have only been able to learn about in other media. On this occasion I read a book about "The Sistine Chapel", published in 2013.

La Capilla Sixtina es una capilla ubicada dentro de la Ciudad del Vaticano, y es posiblemente la estancia más conocida en la ciudad, esto se debe principalmente a que tanto sus muros internos como su bóveda están pintados con escenas reconocidas a nivel mundial.

The Sistine Chapel is a chapel located inside the Vatican City, and is possibly the best known room in the city, this is mainly because both its internal walls and its vault are painted with scenes recognized worldwide.

En el libro podremos leer los diversos procesos que paso el lugar en diversas etapas, desde su construcción, el pintado de sus muros, el pintado de la bóveda, el pintado de El Juicio Final y acaba con sus restauraciones en las últimas décadas.

In the book we can read the various processes that the place went through in different stages, from its construction, the painting of its walls, the painting of the vault, the painting of The Last Judgment and ends with its restorations in recent decades.

El libro está lleno de imágenes de los pintados, con una gran calidad. Me sorprendo por las bellas imágenes, en la que participaron artistas como Botticelli o Miguel Angel. También es interesante ver que mucho de lo que se pensaba al inicio, se acabó modificando por temas técnicos o de otra índole.

The book is full of images of the paintings, with a great quality. I am surprised by the beautiful images, in which artists such as Botticelli or Michelangelo participated. It is also interesting to see that much of what was thought at the beginning, ended up being modified by technical or other issues.

Sobre las imágenes, se representan muchas de las escenas de la biblia, entre ellas la más conocida “La creación de Adán”, pero otras que no conocía tanto y que se puede ver con gran detalle, como el “Juicio Final”.

On the images, many of the scenes of the bible are represented, including the best known "The creation of Adam", but others that I did not know so much and that can be seen in great detail, such as the "Last Judgment".
