While exploring a shaded corner of my usual route, I noticed a small splash of vibrant orange nestled on decaying wood. I paused. There, clinging like soft jewels to the bark, was a young cluster of orange jelly fungus—its form delicate, translucent, and almost glowing in the filtered light.
