Exploring Hauz Khas' Deer Park, New Delhi, India || A Visual Treat 🌳

Hello and welcome to my blog,
Let me be a guide to this virtual tour and take you to a park in Delhi, it is famously called as Deer Park and you will find some "Cheetal (Spotted) Deers" here. It is located in Hauz Khas, New Delhi.
This park is famous among joggers, and walkers, and for picnics with friends and family. Many tourists also visit here throughout the year.

How to reach and Timings
Being located at the heart of Delhi in Hauz Khas, it is well connected with other parts of the city. The best way to commute to this park is by taking the metro train and reaching the Hauz Khas Metro Station.
It is located just 12 km away from the Indira Gandhi Internation (IGI) Airport. So, one can land at the airport and take a private taxi to reach there.
You can also take a bus or private cabs. The park is open each day of day but remains closed at night.

Many people come here daily for their morning walks.

There is a large lake at the centre of the park that maintains a rich ecological balance in the park of its biodiversity of flora and fauna.

You will find monkeys roaming around the park, sitting on benches and swinging from one tree branch to another all day. People give them food too.

Some people came here to rest during the afternoon. Others come here for activities like Yoga and other exercises.

This park has some exercise equipment as well. It was already afternoon and no one was using them when I got there.

Coming to the highlights of the park, we can see some Cheetal deer enclosed inside the park. You are not allowed to get close to them, they were behind fences but have a large area to roam around.

You will also find many birds including aquatic birds and mammals. We saw some peacocks, mongooses, ducks etc freely roaming in the park.

Along with the natural beauty, this park also has some historical monuments. For example, this mosque-like structure stands in the northern part of the park.

It has a huge central dome, a "kibla" wall facing Mecca's direction. It also houses many graves of the royal family, also there are a few more graves outside the structure as well. Historians are not sure what these graves belong to.

A boundary wall still stands on one side of the structure with small arched openings at the corners.

Another mysterious structure stands in the park, it has four arched gate openings on each side of the square base, not sure what purpose it served during that time.

Another small structure with a dome can be seen here. It was much smaller in size and couldn't have been used as a praying hall or anything like that. I love the sentence written on the board: "Delhi: A city of cities." I am borrowing this line from now on. lol

I loved the hut designs and benches inside the park.

I loved the shape of this tree, I am a big tree lover and this one felt perfect so I had to capture this as well. You will find so many different types of trees and plants in this park.

There was a separate section for kids where there were some nice swings and slides.

Kids were playing on the swings.

Overall, a great park to enjoy with your family and friends. It will be a great spot for picnics and other activities like Yoga, nature walk or just bird sightings. So many fun activities to do here you will surely enjoy spending a nice morning or evening here.
One of the few parks in India where you will see Deer. So, it is worth visiting this place. Also, if you love architecture and design, you are going to love this park as well. It has something to offer to everyone. I highly recommend anyone visiting Delhi to pay a visit there.
Let me know what are your thoughts about the place. Would you like to visit this place when/if you come to Delhi? Constructive criticism is always appreciated. Thanks for reading.

What a beautiful park!! I absolutely love the mosque-like building, it ain't common to find such structures within urban parks. Thank you for walking around the park, I really enjoyed it :)
Indeed. It is one of the famous tourist places. Delhi was ruled by so many rulers and each one of them has left their remains in so many places. As I quoted in the blog: "Delhi is a collection of old cities within a city".
Thank you for stopping by! 😇
