TGIF 🍻🍹 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊.The weekend is upon us yet again. I have had a great day and am raring to go with my stepping activities as well as share some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for stopping by and let's get things going 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. A nice short walk then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies then around the park. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park.
So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, another horrendous day unfolded in Gaza. 51 Palestinians killed in the past 24 hours as Israeli airstrikes hit areas in Rafa, Khan Younis and Gaza City😿. The death toll is now at 34,356 since October 7 😭.
Also trending, Belgium has summoned the Israeli ambassador after a Belgian aid worker and his young son were killed in one of the airstrikes in Gaza😿.
In the other war in Ukraine, bombing killed two in Donetsk. Then Ukraine has passed a new law, no passports to be issued to men living abroad🙀. This to encourage them to head back home and join the war. This as Ukraine faces a shortage of manpower on the war front.
Across the pond in the US, more universities join in on the pro Palestinian protests.
The trend seems to be going global. The student protests have intensified across the world condemning Israel for genocide in Gaza. Paris, London and Sydney Australia have joined in🙀.
China trending as US secretary of state Anthony Blinken ended his 3 day visit with a meeting with Chinese president Xi Jinping.
Meanwhile, US and Philippines army held joint military exercises in a big drill in the south China sea, China doesn't like this😹
