Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. As always glad you stopped by. Hopefully you have had or are having a great day💯. I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a peek into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. Come on, let's get it done 💨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before the evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. Meanwhile in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of crypto/twitter. let's dive into that next
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, Gaza still trending as an Israeli air attack hit an UNRWA centre in Rafa, killing at least 5 Palestinians😿.
Netanyahu still insisting that a ground offensive would go on in Rafa. The military saying it will push civilians to ' humanitarian islands' to reduce or avoid deaths.
Let's go to Europe where Ukraine trending as it launched drone strikes inside Russia for a second day🙀. Some oil refineries reportedly badly damaged.
Meanwhile Russia fired drones into the town of Donetsk, damaging residential buildings.
Speaking of Russia, the presidential elections are coming up from Friday. Putin looking forward to winning unchallenged as his three opponents stand zero chance of being elected 😿. I even wonder why they are having the election in the first place 😹. Navalny would have been Putin's best match but they made sure he was dead before the election😡
Then, a shocking incident as Navalny's close friend was brutally attacked in Lithuania🙀. Intelligence officials say the attack was aimed to stop Russian opposition from influencing Russia's presidential election. The lengths at which politicians can go is just shocking.
Across the pond in the US, both Trump and Biden have won enough delegates to be their parties flag bearers. We are looking at a rematch of 2020😹.
Also trending, US house has passed a bill that could ban TikTok nationwide🙀. The bill would force Chinese tech giant to sell its stake in the app. However, it's gonna be tough for the bill to pass through the Senate.
China has warned of consequences if US bans TikTok 😹. A foreign ministry spokesperson accused the US of suppressing TikTok and bullying behaviour.
Hopefully, both sides reach an amicable solution💯. TikTok is fun especially for young people.
