Una tarde con los patitos (Esp/Eng)

Saludos amigos de Hive. Hoy quiero mostrarles lo que vi en una tarde de paseo por un lugar hermoso de mi ciudad.

Después de haber estado realizando con mi hija unas gestiones cuyo resultado no fueron los que esperábamos, le propuse visitar un parque cerca de donde estábamos,para alegrarnos el alma.

Hay lugares en las ciudades que son un remanso de tranquilidad y paz, son como oasis, en el desierto, donde la naturaleza te invita a conectarte con ella, como con estas hermosas bromelias en el tronco de un árbol y diferentes especies vegetales que se pueden observar en los jardines.

Eso es el Parque La Estancia, en Altamira, en la ciudad de Caracas. En la época colonial este lugar era una hacienda con caballerizas y todavía se mantiene gran parte de la edificación donde funcionan escuelas de arte.

Pero lo que a mí más me gusta son sus áreas verdes llenas de árboles donde las personas se sientan bajo su sombra y donde pueden recibir la visita de un grupo de aves que corretean libremente y se acercan a pedir comida.

Los patos son muy graciosos. Las patas son seguidas por sus patitos pequeños, con un plumón muy suave de una mezcla de colores claros y oscuros.

Los patos siguen a su pareja y los gallos persiguen a las gallinas en un correteo que a mi vista es muy gracioso. De vez en vez ellos cantan su popular quiquiriquí y aletean como para decir "Aquí estoy yo".

También hay pavos reales caminando con mucha parsimonia. Los machos con su plumaje de hermosos colores y su llamativo copete y las hembras con su plumaje de color gris.

Los patitos se nos cercaron con su madre a pedir comida. Teníamos pan y le dimos. Son muy glotones y nos brincaron encima para arrebatarnos con su pico el pedazo de pan y casi se llevan la bolsa completa.

Al rato de estar sentada con mi hija a la sombra de un samán, llegó una pareja de jóvenes, el chico extendió su chaqueta sobre la grama y se sentaron. De inmediato y en rápida carrera, como si alguna voz les dijera. "Vayan para allá", gallos y patos corrieron hacia ellos. La joven se asustó, se paró rápidamente y seguida del joven corrió hacia otro lugar escapando de las aves. Fue un momento muy gracioso.

Nosotras continuamos sentadas a la sombra del árbol, observando las aves, la vegetación, las personas, el cielo nublado y la hermosa montaña que protege a la ciudad. Y ya al atardecer, cuando nos íbamos, escuchamos el canto de las guacamayas que a esa hora regresan a dormir al Parque.

Y al final de la tarde estabamos tranquilas y alegres, la decepción que habiamos sentido se había ido, fue una maravillosa manera de recargarnos de buenas energías y dejar atras el pesimismo disfrutando del momento presente en tan buena compañia.

Greetings friends of Hive. Today I want to show you what I saw on an afternoon walk in a beautiful place in my city.

After having been doing some errands with my daughter, the results of which were not what we expected, I proposed her to visit a park near where we were, to cheer up our souls.

There are places in the cities that are a haven of tranquility and peace, they are like oases in the desert, where nature invites you to connect with it, as with these beautiful bromeliads in the trunk of a tree and different vegetables that can be seen in the gardens.

This is La Estancia Park, in Altamira, in the city of Caracas. In Colonial times this place was a hacienda with stables and there is still a large part of the building where art schools operate.

But what I like the most are its green areas full of trees where people sit under their shade and where they can receive the visit of a group of birds that run freely and come to ask for food.

The ducks are very funny. The legs are followed by their little ducklings, with a very soft down of a mixture of light and dark colors.

The ducks follow their mate and the roosters chase the hens in a scampering that to my eye is very funny. From time to time they sing their popular "quiquiriquí" and flap their wings as if to say "Here I am".

There are also peacocks walking very gracefully. The males with their beautifully colored plumage and their showy crest and the females with their gray plumage.

The ducklings approached us with their mother to ask for food. We had bread and gave it to them. They are very greedy and jumped on us to snatch the bread with their beaks and almost took the whole bag.

After a while of sitting with my daughter in the shade of a saman tree, a young couple arrived, the boy spread his jacket on the grass and they sat down. Immediately and in a quick run, as if some voice was telling them. "Go over there", roosters and ducks ran towards them. The young girl was frightened, stood up quickly and followed by the young man ran to another place escaping from the birds. It was a very funny moment.

We continued sitting in the shade of the tree, watching the birds, the vegetation, the people, the cloudy sky and the beautiful mountain.
And at sunset, as we were leaving, we heard the song of the macaws that at that time return to sleep in the park.

And at the end of the afternoon we were calm and happy, the disappointment we had felt was gone, it was a wonderful way to recharge us with good energy and leave behind the pessimism enjoying the present moment in such good company.
