Hello bird lovers!

This time, to participate in round #245 of this initiative, Feathered friends. Show Me a Photo, organized by @nelinoeva, with a free theme, I am sharing some photos of a bird that I always see flying around my house and hear singing in the morning when I wake up.

The pitirre chicharrero, as it is called in my country (Tyrannus melancholicus), is a very common bird where I live, in the city of Maracay in Venezuela. It is always fluttering around and perching on fences.

Although small in size, this bird has a loud and sonorous song. I took these photos in the morning when I saw it was most active. Its song sounds like "piriri" and increases in volume.

The pitirre was flying from the branches of the trees to the fence of a playground.

I read that it feeds mainly on insects that it hunts in flight and that it is a bird that defends its territory very well, even from larger birds.

I love its haughty pose, as if it were guarding its territory. At that moment, I took the opportunity to photograph it, although I couldn't get very close because it took flight.

Hola amigos amantes de las aves

En esta oportunidad para participar en la ronda # 245 de esta iniciativa Muéstrame una foto, organizada por @nelinoeva, con un tema libre, les comparto unas fotografías de un pájaro que siempre veo volar en mi residencia y escucho su canto en la mañana al despertar.

El pitirre chicharrero, como lo llaman en mi país ( Tyrannus melancholicus) es un pajarito muy común en el lugar donde vivo, en la ciudad de Maracay, Venezuela. Siempre revoloteando y parándose en las cercas.

Este pájaro aunque pequeño de tamaño tiene un canto fuerte y sonoro. Estas fotografías las tome en horas de la mañana cuando lo he visto que es mas activo. Su canto suena como piriri que va aumentando de volumen.

El pitirre estaba volando desde las ramas de los árboles hasta la cerca de un parque infantil.

Estuve leyendo que se alimenta principalmente de insectos que caza durante el vuelo y que es un ave que defiende muy bien su territorio aún cuando sea de aves mas grandes.

Me encanta su pose altiva que mantiene como si estuviera vigilando su territorio. En ese momento aproveche de fotografiarlo aunque no me pude acercar mucho porque alzó el vuelo.
