A sheep in the flock (Esp/Eng)

While I was visiting the university area, where the Veterinary and Agronomy Faculties of the Central University of Venezuela are located, I was observing a herd of cows walking outside the corral in search of places to graze.

Mientras realizaba una visita a la zona universitaria, donde funcionan las Facultades de Veterinarias y de Agronomía de la Universidad Central de Venezuela estuve observando un rebaño de vacas que hacia su recorrido fuera del corral en búsqueda de lugares donde pastar.

It caught my attention that they were accompanied by a short-haired sheep. These breeds are the most adapted to tropical climates such as Venezuela. In this area we were in the summer season and the heat that day was over 30 °C.

Me llamó la atención que las acompañaba un ovejo de los de pelo corto. Estas razas son las mas adaptadas a climas tropicales como el de Venezuela. En esta zona estabamos en época de verano y el calor ese día superó los 30 °C.

I found it curious that he was following the herd and I took the opportunity to take some pictures.

Me pareció curioso que la oveja siguiera al rebaño y aproveche de tomarle varias fotografías.

About three hours later, around noon, the herd returned to the place where I was and went to a spring in the traffic circle.

Como a las tres horas, cerca del mediodía el rebaño regreso al lugar donde yo estaba y se dirigió a una fuente que hay en la redoma.

I took other pictures of the cows approaching the water jets. The heat was strong and they were looking to cool off.

Tomé otras fotografías de las vacas acercándose a los chorros de agua. El calor era fuerte y ellas estaban buscando refrescarse.

I took the opportunity to talk to the person driving the herd and told him about the sheep. He told me that the sheep was always with the cows, it showed no interest in being with the sheep.

Aproveché de conversar con la persona que conducía al rebaño y le comenté lo del ovejo. El me dijo que el ovejo siempre andaba con las vacas, no mostraba interés en estar con las ovejas.

I liked the fact that hanging out with one or the other species was not a problem for them. The cows accepted him as one of the herd and the sheep seemed happy to be with them.

Me gustó que en esto de andar con una u otra especie no era un problema para ellos. Las vacas lo aceptaban como uno más de la manada y el ovejo se veía contento de estar con ellas.

They continued on their way to the corrals because the sun was very strong and I saw them walk away with their leisurely gait, wagging their tails from one side to the other and very close to them the sheep accompanied them.

Siguieron su camino hacia los corrales porque el sol estaba muy fuerte y las vi alejarse con su andar pausado, moviendo la cola de un lado a otro y muy cerca el ovejo las acompañaba.
