Photo of Village Buried by Landslide

Hello Hive friends,
May God always bless us all!!!
What I did this week was to tour the village after the flash flood and landslide disaster. It's now the third week since the flood disaster. Some roads to the village are now accessible by motorcycle and foot, while some roads are still impassable by car.

After several weeks of extremely tense conditions in the village, I finally felt a sense of relief because I could now access the internet, albeit relying solely on the Starlink network. The electricity system wasn't fully operational yet; several poles hadn't been repaired, hindering the flow of electricity.

Several excavators and bulldozers were still clearing roads buried under soil, rocks, and wood. I was curious to explore the road leading to the residential area near Lake Lut Tawar, Takengon.

Since the road was passable, I decided to explore the villages affected by the natural disaster. Although the price of motorcycle fuel was very expensive, reaching up to IDR 50,000 per liter, it didn't stop me from exploring these villages.

As I began to pass through the town, the atmosphere seemed different. It was a little quieter, with fewer vehicles passing by, and the atmosphere seemed to have drifted back in time. I headed towards the village along the road that led along the lake. Along the way, I passed streams, patches of dirt, and rocks.

This village is located in a hilly area, situated at a 90-degree angle. The intersection of two hillside corners is right in the middle of the residential area. It's no surprise that during heavy rain and landslides, the water flow will enter the residential area. Traces of soil, sand, and rocks from the excavations carried out by road cleaning trucks are visible on the road, and they still remain.

Several residential areas still bear traces of mud and soil, with even pieces of wood scattered across their yards. Several houses have been damaged and swept away by the floodwaters, and rice paddies have been reduced to piles of mud and soil.

Several houses were seen damaged and lost in the torrential floodwaters. The remaining houses were filled with mud, leaving only scattered debris. Meanwhile, some houses remained, but they were buried beneath the ground, with the soil reaching waist-high.

Some residents' houses were still intact, being used by their neighbors as temporary shelters, as the only way to find shelter was with neighbors and relatives. Because there were no emergency tents provided by the government in the damaged houses, and during my travels, I did not find any emergency posts or public kitchens near the damaged housing complex.

Not only homes were damaged, but also several public facilities, such as places of worship and schools, were severely affected. Schools here were filled with mud. To this day, residents remain homeless, and this disaster has had a significant impact on the victims of natural disasters.

Witnessing what was before me brought back memories of the 2004 tsunami disaster. It was both heartbreaking and unfortunate. It seems like it will take a long time for the situation to recover. I hope they are resilient in facing this tragedy, and I hope that help will arrive soon.

Hello sahabat Hive,
Semoga tuhan selalu memberkati kita semuanya !!!

That concludes my post, I hope you enjoy it...
