Cloudy tranquility

I've spent all morning planting tomato and pepper seeds, and I can't wait for them to pop up in a week or so to show you the progress. Last year, I planted the seeds in January which turned out to be too early because we had cold and rainy spring, so this year I've planned to plant them later, and I hope that I didn't wait for too long and that they will have enough time to grow before I bring them to the garden. After bending for a few hours my back and legs needed some stretching, so I took a longer walk than I usually would and feel so much better now. It took me almost 2 hours to get back home and I have also managed to complete my daily 10k steps.

Let's show you around!

First, I walked down the hill to the train station and from there to the river. We live on top of a hill, so it doesn't matter in which direction I go it is always down the hill on the way there and up the hill on the way back. I would prefer it to be the other way around. Many years ago, we bought two cool bikes, but we used them only a couple of times (not the purchase that we would be proud of) because it's uphill to go home 😊

Let's cross the bridge, however we are not heading to the village today. We will walk along the river to the right.

I used to be scared to walk on this bridge before they repaired it a few years ago. It was all wobbly and I didn't want to end up in the Rhine Falls. Especially, when there were many cars on the bridge at the same time....

2.jpg

The view to the other side...

Even today, the bridge looks all rusty, but trust me it is much better than it used to be!

3.jpg

Once you cross the bridge, there are stairs to get closer to the river. There is no path as there are gardens further in the back, but it's nice to go there anyway.

4.jpg

Since I talked about the new towers in town I keep seeing them everywhere. I hope I will become friends with people who got the apartments on top floor to get invited to their place and admire the views 😊

5.jpg

And we've approached the path. We will walk for a couple of kilometres to get to another bridge. I was not sure if it would be possible to walk here as it's not maintained in winter and can get big muddy. Luckily, it was quite dry...

6.jpg

Some time ago it was raining so much that part of the hill was torn off and felt to the river. There were trees on the path for some time because the machines couldn't get there before it got stable again.

7.jpg

I used to work in one of those buildings, but I will not specify in which one exactly 😊 It's an amazing location for an office. You can have a cup of coffee on a large terrace with stunning views, take a walk during your break or enjoy a BBQ with your colleagues after work.

8.jpg

I can't wait when it will all become green again...

9.jpg

To work there might get a bit complicated in summer as you keep getting distracted by watching tourists on their way to the waterfall or to the city 😊

11.jpg

This is the prettiest part of the trail...

12.jpg

We won't walk to the waterfalls today, but cross the river before them (right behind the corner).

13.jpg

It looks like we're almost there, but we first have to walk up the hill and then down again to get to the bridge. It's all about up and down around here 😊

14.jpg

And yes, you can see those towers from here too...

15.jpg

This is a lovely place in summer. It's hidden behind the trees and you can enjoy some peace away from the tourists.

16.jpg

Time to slowly go down to the river again...

17.jpg

When I go by train this is my cue to put on my jacket because we are approaching the train station...

18.jpg

But it's much better to walk here as you can spend as much time as you want on the bridge and admire the views.

19.jpg

Just don't look down too much not to get dizzy. The current is too strong!

20.jpg

And yes, there must a bit of green in my photos too! 😊

21.jpg

22.jpg

This part of the trail was built only recently. It's a bit shorter and as I was getting cold I thought it was a good idea to get home as soon as possible.

23.jpg

And the views didn't disappoint...

24.jpg

I forgot how good it is to keep up with my daily exercise. I usually stop when we travel and don't manage to start again. This year, I plan to do it differently.

See you next time...
