Tatra Mountains 2025 #5 - Fresh Snow on the Mountains!

These shots I took on my 3rd day trip to the South of Poland - to the highest mountains in Poland - Tatra Mountains :).

From the early morning we had a continually snow falls and rain with strong wind... in the higher parts pf the mountains it jhad to be a real weather nightmare...

Around 3PM the weather begun to be much more pleasant so we decided to take a train (cable car mountain railway) to get to one of the best viewpoint on High Tatra in the area of Zakopane town.

On the first shot You can see just a part of the town in lower-left corner:

I was really amazed by magical light and shadows play on the mountains and especially on the snow covered mountain forests...

The sky after all of these snow storms was beautiful and dramatic.
Some clouds were touching the mountain peaks, some of them were builded up like a the stormy ones - Cumulonimbus type.

All the shades of greys and blues were dominant.

To get the most out of this beautiful landscape I used my zoom lens and shot a large, wide, panoramic shot of the part which had the most spectacular light at the moment...

Single, lonely white cloud in the middle was essential there to have this nice contrast between the different types of clouds.

The light was crazy that day!
