Polish Nature - Springtime Woodland Exploration - The Gallery

Hi Friends!

Coming back after a short holiday break with a new gallery of woodland photography.

These images I took during my early spring exploration which You could see on the video I shared two posts before :) ( HERE is the post with video).

Few words about the weather and light conditions that day.

It was already afternoon when I reached the location, the sky begun to get cloudy and the temperature dropped. Later that day some rain was forecasted so I was prepared for the worst.
Luckily the rain was very light and it brought a nice. fresh air into the forest.

The light was ok for woodland photography - not too dark, not too bright, it was scaterred and soft, shadows weren't black and highlights burned. Such a light is much better for the forest photography than full spectrum light from the sun.

MY GOAL for that day was to explore some unknown areas of Las Warminski nature reserve and to search for new interesting photo spots, locations and compositions.

I was searching the places with old fallen trees, any more clearer areas where it was much simpler to find clear composition for the photo.
I love the old trees covered by moss, because this is a natural reserve - no fallen trees are taken away so there is a lot of rotting, dead wood on the ground covered with green moss, lichens and all sorts of tree fungus.

On my way I found a couple of spots where I stopped for a while trying to find and capture some interesting compositions.

In this post You can watch the chosen results of my tries.
I wasn't totally happy with the shots I took but it is all about the conditions... the light was too flat - I know I said before that such light is ok for woodland photography - but in this case, it was simply too flat... no shadows and light areas made the shots flat and not so interesting.
The colours were also desaturated.
The thick layer of rainy clouds hold too much light that day so it was dull and dark, especially under the trees by the forest floor.

Despite the fact that the conditions were bad this exploration wasn't a mistake - I found some potential spots for the future and I can come back there in better times - maybe later this spring, maybe during golden autumn...
Every exploration also teach us more about the place, it's topography and points of interest.

AND what is the most important - I spent a great day outdoor, walking among the beautiful and clean nature, having fun with my hobby and have some sport activity.

What else to say - it was a great day out :)
