Friendly Muskrat - Unexpected Meeting by the Castle

As a bonus gallery - interesting animal met in the castle garden in Paffendorf, large galleries from the castle You could see in my previous posts.

This was the first time I saw a Muskrat (Ondatra zibethicus). Large creature which looks like a mix of a rat and a beaver.
He was sitting by the water pond eating freshly grown, spring grass.
I thought he will escape after seeing us but we were able to approach to him as close as 2 meters.

He didn't care about our presence, just doing his stuff - eating ;).

After 5 minutes he went back slowly to the water and swim away.

Interesting animal :).
