Рід Мальцевих належав непростим людям, це були відомі народу хліботоргівці. Вони мали великий капітал, який дозволив їм вести міжнародну торгівлю. Місцеві жителі міста Балаково говорили про них: "У братів Мальцевих є так багато землі, що на ній поміститься вся Франція".

Паїсій Мальцев, один із братів цієї благородної родини, був продавцем першої гільдії, колекціонував книги. Він дуже любив книги, і в колекції він мав багато рідкісних випусків рукотворного листа.

У 1880 році архітектор Шустер збудував будинок, і в 1886 Мальцевим як придбав. Кажуть, що ця садиба була збудована спеціально на прохання Мальцева, для його коханої. Вона була француженкою з благородної сім'ї і обіцяла Паїсію переїхати до нього, тільки якщо він збудує будинок, який би відповідав її батьківському житлу.

В результаті було збудовано цілий палац, позаду якого був красивий сад з бузком. Але кохана відмовила торговцю Паїсію, після відмови Мальцев поселив у особняку свого керуючого. А сам... Він лишився жити у Франції. Все життя Мальцеви було переповнене нерозділеною любов'ю.

У Франції Пасій Мальцев провів багато років, а цей особняк почали вважати архітектурною пам'яткою. З 1998 до 2008 року в особняку велися ремонтні роботи, велика кількість речей була реставрована до початкового стану. Тепер Мальцева садиба один з музеїв.

The Maltsev family did not belong to ordinary people, they were grain merchants known to the people. They had not a small capital, which allowed them to conduct international trade. Local residents of the city of Balakovo said about them: "The Maltsev brothers have so much land that the whole of France will fit on it."

Paisiy Maltsev, one of the brothers of this noble family, was a seller of the first guild and collected books. He was very fond of books, and in his collection he had many rare editions of hand-made writing.

In 1880 the architect Shuster built the building, and in 1886 Maltsev purchased it. They say that this estate was built specifically at the request of Maltsev, for his beloved. She was a Frenchwoman from a noble family and promised Paisius to move in with him only if he built a house that would match her paternal habitation.

As a result, a whole palace was built, behind which was a beautiful garden with lilacs. But the beloved refused the merchant Paisius, after the refusal, Maltsev settled in the mansion of his manager. And he himself ... He stayed to live in France. Maltseva's whole life was filled with unrequited love.

Pasiy Maltsev spent many years in France, and this mansion was soon considered an architectural monument. From 1998 to 2008, renovation work was carried out in the mansion, a large number of things were restored to their original state. Now the Maltsev Estate is one of the museums.
