So I wake up
With the thought of you
I express it all
Make my life a work of art like you

We get lazy, but that's alright
Because like any game, life is never nice and clean
I love you, even though you make me so mad sometimes I could cry

You make the fire burn like a wild thing
Even if the flames could singe your insides too bad
It's alright because, like any game, life is rolling dice in disguise
I come out of my corner swinging, but that's just dandy with me

It's just this game called life and it's full of questions, not answers
What if I turn away someday?
Would you ever have the nerve to show me?
Would you know to keep your beat or would our music fly so far away?

And life is like a game of chance
Changing the variables on us all
I trade the Russian roulette

Say "sayonara" to the black sheep
Of this ole, hometown game
I don't care about the stakes and I don't play for fun
And I'm shooting for a silver penny

Life is a game
And I lost all my change
To the pot in just one sitting

I watched it all unfold before my eyes
Everything went, so fast
I'm wondering what I should do next
Since I'm hopeless and bound to be last

It's a game that's constantly changing
Always gonna be changing the variables for us
Should I wait here and throw in my chips?
