Same time, different angle, unique results
I went down earlier to check the status of the garden. The rain has wash off the new soil that we added last week which is annoying. It means that we will have to redo it. And then we will have to cultivate the plot again, it’s not the best time to do it because the weather has been unpredictable lately. We may have to postpone it until the weather gets better.
Although it’s gloomy, I don’t want to waste my walk down the garden so I took some photos as well. In this quick photo session, I was trying to test the effects of lighting position to the subject and the results are quite interesting.
It turns out that the position of the light will have a visible effect on the flower as the subject. The petals and the leaves react differently to the direction of light that shine on it.
If the light shine from the back of the flower, it will illuminate the part of the petals or leaves that are translucent. It will result to a glowing effect on the edges and on the surface.
But when the light shines on the front surface of the flower then the result show differently. The picture becomes darker as a result and then the flower looks solid and less translucent as well.
Among the two results, I think I prefer the result of the back lit flower instead of the one that is light to the front.
Here’s the result of the photo with the light shining behind the flower.
While here's the result of the photo with the light shing in front of the flower.
Here’s the comparison between the two photos.
Yeah, it looks cool, you gave us good tips on how to take pictures, thank you for sharing your photography knowledge with us, friend.
Hopefully the weather there will also improve and work can resume.
Have a nice day.
Thanks for the feedback my friend, I also enjoyed doing these tests and learn from it as well. Have a good day ahead ☀️
