Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 142

avatar

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Welcome to the 142nd round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.

I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

IMG_20221030_152727.jpg

Although the weather is not so amazing anymore, it was still unusually warm and sunny last weekend so we took advantage of that and went for a little hike around the Prokop Valley here in Prague, Czech Republic. The valley itself was quite crowded as many people obviously had the same idea of where to spend the lovely Sunday afternoon so I didn´t really take many photos down there. However, on our way to the valley, I stopped by this beautiful little water reservoir and clicked this colorful picture for you ;) As you can see in the photo, a decent portion of the foliage is still hanging on the trees, which is, again, quite unusual for late October / early November. Perfectly fine with me though ;)

In the last round, we had 10 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

@onlavu with this entry from the Czech Republic:

Hey @phortun, last weekend, I trekked a bit around the mountain Králický Sněžník (Czechia). I slept out there. Here is a shot from the spot I was accommodated at. The view shows low clouds below / sunrise above (sun was hidden behind the clouds) the main mountain ridge of the Jeseníky Mountains.

@gornat with this entry from Mexico:

It's another week again meaning it's another round of your appreciate beauty of nature photo challenge. Hello to you @phortun and everyone here. Here's my entry for this round from the beautiful country Philippines. It's in Valencia again but this is in the elevated part. Well, I would say I fell in love with Valencia. The place has certainly stolen my vulnerable heart. The lush, green and stunning mountains will always left me an awe. It's a holiday yesterday so normally if we don't have work we will come here and hike that's the reason why we came here yesterday. We went there at around 3:00 in the afternoon but since the weather was not that nice most mountains were covered with fog. Luckily, this part was not yet covered so I was able to have a photo of it. I think you now understand why I fell in love with Valencia.

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

I post this series in the Amazing Nature community, a great community for all nature lovers. Feel free to check it out ;)

Hi, this photo is from today, at a small river called Mauerbach close where I live. I like that it has so many different views during it´s way until he merges to the bigger "Wienfluss". And of course each season has it´s special charme. More pics of it here.

Great shots guys!

That shot by @onlavu has me tripping. I can’t seem to figure out how the shot was taken, or of what the shot is, even though he clearly describes it.

Thank @phortun, its an honor you decided to select my picture. It certainly creates a commitment, I just checked and the last picture I took was 8 days ago so tomorrow I will go out there and try to get some decent pic to submit. Hope to find something interesting.

Congratulation to all! Here's my entry from Bayawan city, Philippines. I was spending time with my sister and my mom in Niludhan waterfalls yesterday evening,(she's my favorite, sshh don't tell the other waterfalls. OK, they're all favorite 😅) It was one of the glorious night and a bit romantic since Mr. moon also joined with us. This waterfalls is considered as one of the pride in my hometown. We planned to camp in the area but unfortunately, we decided to go home because my mom was hesitant for safety reasons ,no other campers and no guard around. By the way, it was my mom's first time going with us and she enjoyed it, hopefully she will say YES to camping next time.😉
Why is the photo like that? There's no electrical lamp installed in the area so it was just the moonlight present at the time and I love it because it's even more natural.

Wow! It has been a while since we had some waterfalls in this challenge and I must say that these are so big and beautiful! I can imagine how challenging the conditions were for taking photos with the dynamics of the waterfalls and the poor light but you still did a good job :)

Thank you! I must say we have more than 30 waterfalls in the island I'm from, and this is one of the four majestic waterfalls.😊

Yes, it´s an incredible country indeed. We used to live on Riviera Maya in Yucatan ;) And yes, the landscape picture on my cover photo here is from Vinales. We visited Cuba a few years ago and Vinales is the place that I loved the most there ;) Sweet memories...

Sadly I don't know the Riviera Maya... Yet, but I will. As for Viñales, it's one of Cuban Best, but far from the only amazing nature there. Did you had the chance to know Topes de Collantes? Or Lomas de Banano?, or Gran Piedra or Sierra Maestra? If the answer is Not I strongly encourage you to plan another trip there so you can visit those places.

You should really check out Riviera Maya when you have a chance ;) It looks like this:

Nope, I haven´t seen any of the places you mentioned. Our stay in Cuba was short, just a few days, most of which we spent in Havana ;)

Hello @phortun , this is my entry from Nigeria.

Two days ago, I had a lot going on on my mind, I was just biased over life circumstances and so , decided to visit the nature and see if I be alright.
On reaching there alone, I felt the breeze on my head, wow. Everywhere so serene, it was exactly what I wanted. I had a nice view of the nature while refelecting on my life and within some time, I felt good again 👌😘

My Entry:

I think this kind of flower is one of the amazing nature. This is a flower that climb up to 20ft above the ground. The owner of the made a string ladder for rhe flowers to move upward like a vineyard. This is not ours but owned by our neighbor. We live in the desert here in Saudi Arabia, my workplace. I grew flowers by providing water every night.

This is me with the flowers at my back.

Thank you @phortun

Good evening 🤗

Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 142

Although it was cloudy, when I came home from work I wanted to go for a walk in the forest...Deliblatska peščara (Banat Srbija)
Some mist was floating in the forest..... It was a very strange day, and as my sister said eerie.... The wind was blowing a little, the birds were not heard and we neither heard nor saw a single animal..
It was miraculous though because the leaves caught the color of autumn... With the mist everything was moved to another dimension....

Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: Round #142

Here's my entry:
This was exactly 2 o'clock in the afternoon but already, it looks like night was about to fall. This was because of the weather condition. Apparently, the atmospheric conditions got me confuse if it was going to rain or not; but thank goodness it didn't. It is actually a park that's situated somewhere in the southern region of Nigeria.

Hi @phortun, this is my first entry for this For this contest, this photo I took earlier while visiting a café in the mountainous area of my area, the ongoing rainy season may be the main cause of the formation of this beautiful fog, the fog seems to envelop almost the entire mountainous area and succeeds in creating an extraordinary natural beauty,

This is Some other pictures that I also got in the same location, and in the next post I will also share some other moments that also concern about nature, that's all and thank you, I took this photo saturday afternoon on 2022-11-05,

Congratulations to @onlavu for the stunning photograph of the sea of clouds and to @gornat for the lovely photo of the flower and butterfly. Thank you @phortun for initiating this wonderful weekly photo challenge.

Here's my entry for this week's round from the beautiful country Philippines:

20221105_095345.jpg

I took this photo in Siaton, Negros Oriental yesterday. This is located in a secluded area and there are 2 ways to get there. The easiest way is to ride a pumpboat however, we left no option as there's no available boat who can convey us to turtle island. We took the other way where we walk around 2 kilometers to get there.

Since we don't have a choice of course we walked. It's not that far but enough to get us sweat. I was curious how this turtle island looks like. Is it nice? I asked myself but when we arrived at the area the scenery didn't disappoint me. It is like a little paradise. The place is quiet and if you're seeking tranquility, I'm sure you can find it here.

I've never been a special fan of amphibians, but lately nature delights me in every form. I try to spot beauty everywhere. Recently, on a bicycle trip with my boyfriend, we went exploring the area where we have been living for a short time. We found a sizable lake in the middle of the forest, and by the shore frogs of various sizes
