Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 140
Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!
Welcome to the 140th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)
I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.
The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.
The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)
Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.
I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:
Only one entry (photo) per person per round.
The photo must be yours and not older than one week.
Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.
You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.
Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.
I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)
To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:
When hanging around the amazing Pruhonice Park that I wrote about here on my blog yesterday, we also climbed up to a little lookout tower. Honestly, the views from up there were not so impressive as there were many tall trees around (I actually even decided not to include the shots that I took up there in my mini photo series about the park) but when we were up there on the lookout platform, I noticed this little fella just chilling out on the metal railing and basking in the pleasant afternoon autumn sun :) I don´t know what species this bug was but it was a really cool dude :) Photo taken last Sunday in the Pruhonice Park in Prague, Czech Republic.
In the last round, we had 4 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:
@kellyane with this entry from the Philippines:
Congratulations to all winners especially to a dear friend @franzpaulie, finally you've already joined this contest initiated by @phortun. This is my entry for this week. This was taken last Friday when a close friend of mine invited me to her house. She together with her family lives near the coastal area and this scenery will greet them every day. This is located in Mangnao, Dumaguete City, Philippines. While eating sweet potatoes that my friend offered me, I was tempted to take photo of this wonderful scenery. If you have noticed the island in the photo, that is the Siquijor Island or also known as the healing island. It is one of the well-visited islands in the Visayas Region.
@suzana72 with this entry from Serbia:
Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 139. Good evening @phortun, I hope I'm not late... Walking on Sunday along Vršački Breg (Banat, Serbia) represents refreshment and enjoyment for me. This sunny day was a real summer day, and many took advantage of it for a walk, or like this girl, to sit on the lookout and enjoy the view.
@franzpaulie with this entry from the Philippines:
Congratulations to the winners! And I'll add my entry. This is how I enjoyed my coffee yesterday when I went to our farm house for coffee picking. How much do I love chasing fogs? I woke up at 4 am and drove to LF Peak and stayed there until the morning sunlight melted them all away. By the way, LF Peak is in Bayawan city, Philippines. This is a snack shop, the owner is an old friend of my late dad and they are very nice people. This place have drawn many nature lover tourists. And our coffee farm is somewhere below at the right side of this photo. Be prepared for a brutal hike if you want to join with me harvesting coffee. Don't worry, the reward would be a bottomless coffee!
Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)
I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.
Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

Hey @phortun! Very nice bug you found there. I'm joining again this round with this interesting coral fungus (Artomyces pyxidatus) I found in a local park in the Netherlands today.
Hey there! Good to see you here again after a while :) Very nice mushroom close up, thank you!
Thank you very much @phortun 💕
Congraulations to the others winners 🎊

The autumn color of roses is incredibly intense... This autumn is rainy and I can say warm. My roses have bloomed and now they are the most beautiful to me..My yard in Banat 🥰
This rose has a particularly intense color... It was a cloudy day when I photographed it, and it just shone....
You found a nice bug😊
Have a nice evening ✨
Hey Suzana, thanks for another lovely entry :) The autumn has been unusually warm here too btw, definitely not complaining about it :D
Thank you very much @phortun 🥰
Where else can I complain 😉
If only it would last another mont💕
That buddy that you found is cute. I'm sharing a member of Class Insecta, a caterpillar of some unknown species. The photo is taken on 18.10 near Evo, Finland.
The rest of my photos from that outdoor trip are here.
Wow, that´s a very cool close up :) Thank you. Can you just add where and when you took the picture please?
Thank you! I added the info - taken last Tuesday in Finland.
Congratulations to all the winners of the last week. This is my entry for this week. I took this picture while I was strolling through seaview in my hometown, Karachi Pakistan. This is the coastal area of our city. I came here with my friends for a small break from hospital. Sometimes when work gets too tiring the OPDs, I tend to take a small break and go out in the open nature as it gives me peace of mind.
In this picture you can see different people doing different things but there's one similarity between all of them. All these people are out here to earn their livelihoods. Look at the guy with this small 4x4 buggy. He's offering rides. The guy with the balloons is earning through his customers who're having a go at firing these balloons from a gun and the man on the horse is providing horse rides.
Finally got a second to reply... Thanks for this entry my friend, as far as I remember, it was the very first entry from Pakistan in this challenge that I have been hosting every week for almost 3 years! :) So yeah, very special moment, thanks to you. I hope to see you with another entry in the new round ;)
The first of many Pakistani entries. :))
Will be dropping my this week's entry soon
Cool! :)
Hi @phortun, I hope you're doing great! By the way, here's my entry for this week.
We went to Valencia for a simple hike last Saturday. And while passing in this area, my friend suggested that we will stop and spend a little time with this wonderful scenery of nature. Although I always see this kind of scenery but it still leaves a smile on my face everytime I pass in this area. This photo was taken from the beautiful country Philippines.
Sorry for the late reply, just stopping by to say that I really loved this entry and that it was a pleasure to pick it as one of the winners ;)
It's ok @phortun, thanks!
I will try and be in your initiative this week.
Hi @phortun, this is our local beach in my hometown Loon. Bohol Philippines. Ww haveva lot of beautiful beaches in our province but I choose this one to tell you a memorable story behind this place.
I visited my country last May 2022, after 2019 visits. I am working in Saudi Arabia. Upon my arrival, my family planned a surprised party held in this local beach resort.
What made its history because unkwowingly that was the last moment with my father. I imagined how happy we were together withy siblings. Whole day in the beach, eating and sang Karaoke. We sang almost 200 different song we covered from all of us. I stayed with him for only 5 days. He was actived and no sign of dying.
My son was living in different continent so I should go there for my 2 grandchildren wanted to hug me. I only have 1 child, a boy and gave me 2 granddaughter. God is good. I stayed for a month. I want my father to be with me flying by airplane the day I left my province but he refused. He said he will not leave my mother who was just died last 2020 after their golden years wedding anniversary. My mother died during pandemic so I didn't come home.
After a month with my son's family, my father died last June 25, 2022.
This place remind me of our great memory when I and my siblings dipped him in the sea water one afternoon at 3:30 pm.
That't the story how appreciate the beauty of this nature. Like you, I am a nature lover.
Thank you,
@olivia08
Wow, thas was so emotional text Olivia, I´m really sorry for your loss :( Thank you for sharing this picture that is so precious for you with us. I really appreciate it. Wishing you all the best, greetings from Prague!
You are so welcome and thank you for being a good hiver
Best wishes from Saudi Arabia☺
The famed Pulangbato waterfalls in Valencia Negros Oriental, Philippines! In our native dialect 'pula' means red, while 'bato' means rock. True to its name. The rocks were covered with sulfur deposit thus, making is appear red. No worry guys, the color won't stain your clothes.
This is one of my secret place where I run to whenever I need to find myself, sometimes we have life's drama😄. Sitting in front of this falls while enjoying a cuppa is very relaxing. By the way, while I was strolling around the area of course for the intention to find insects and I found Katydid the giant leaf bug resting peacefully on the vine leaf, I invited her to have pictorial and she happily came along.😁 And I gently placed her back to her abode after. There were many kinds of butterflies and dragonflies flying around that I spend sometime on taking pictures but there was one butterfly that look so stunning and it move so quick that I wasn't able to click the camera because I didn't want to miss to see its form, I've watched so many butterflies but that one was looking so wild and so strange beautiful. As nature lover, I do love from small to great creatures. They're such a beauty! Well, that's how I spend my weekend. Thanks @phortun for this awesome opportunity I can share my lovely moments with nature!
Hey there Franz! Thank you for another great entry with a very cool write up but unfortunately, the winners were already picked when you submitted it... I´m still goin to upvote it though as I really like it ;) See you in the new round!
I am grateful and happy for all the nature lover participants here as I am learning new things.🤩❤️
Awesome :)
