Animal Photography: the graceful dance of swan

(Edited)

Hey there my Hive friends and followers!

It has been more than a week since I posted something else than my regular series here on my Hive blog and I´m really sorry about it. As I have mentioned a few times already, I´m currently amid a very busy period (probably the busiest in many years) in the real life, for many different reasons, and I totally feel like I owe you guys an update post with some explanations but there are still some things that I need to know before I can write that post for you so thanks in advance for your patience and understanding. I haven´t been posting much lately, I have been struggling to check out my feed and the happenings on Hive in general but at least, I have been trying to make sure that all the comments that you guys left for me somewhere are being replied to. I really hope to be able to tell you what has been going on in my life lately but before I get to writing that post, let me share some cool natural pictures with you that I actually took today.

We made a little trip to a beautiful natural place called the Hostivice Ponds just outside of Prague, Czech Republic earlier today. It´s basically a network of ponds, creeks and swamps that, together, create a very unique and fragile ecosystem that is home to many interesting animal and plant species. The place looks really cool in photos on the internet but unfortunately, we were not lucky in terms of weather at all so most of my pictures from the Hostivice Ponds didn´t turn out well and I don´t even know if I make a post about the ponds from them.

However, I did take some that actually look very cool despite the gray cloudy skies and the lack of color in the lush vegetation. These shots are interesting just because one beautiful swan decided to pay us a visit (he was probably just curious to see if we had some food for him but whatever :D) and after checking us out, he even danced for us!

Let me show you how it began. That´s him. The Swan Majesty Himself checking out who dared to invade his realm...

After the audience (and after finding out that we didn´t bring any treats :D), the magnificent bird decided to show us who was the boss there by performing this impressive dance. The following shots are a kind of time lapse with the first picture and the last one being taken just a few seconds apart...

I hope you enjoyed the photos. I still cannot believe that my old phone camera was able to capture the two last pictures with such a decent focus even though the swan was shaking his giant wings like crazy. I was lucky I guess :)

Beautiful images of the swan! Cellphone cameras are nifty, aren't they? Their ease, portability and convenience are why my cellphone is all I ever use to take photos; unless I'm at home or have a planned outing and bring my Nikon D3500 along with me.🤳📸📱

The last six images could be used to create a cool gif of the swan gracefully lifting itself out of the lake @phortun

🦢 🎞 💦🦢💦🎞 🦢

Have a great rest of your day!😊

Thank you Nina! You are right about cell phones, I have been only shooting with them too, never actually owned a "real" camera :) Glad that you liked these swan pictures. Now that you mentioned the idea to create a gif out of them, I regret not taking a short video of the dance but I´m not really used to taking videos as clicking shots is my "default setting" when seeing something interesting :D

Maybe you will have another opportunity to video the swans in the future. Who knows, they may even have babies with them next time!

Wow, that last photo is stunning! I love thata kind of ecosystems you mentioned, normally there are tons of different species lurking around. Hope you can salvage a few of those pond photos! Cheers! !BEER

Thanks buddy! I thought that fans of birdwatching like you might enjoy these shots :) Yeah, there is a similar environment (ponds, streams and swamps) near my hometown too and I cycle there quite often when I´m back there and these places are literally brimming with wildlife indeed.

Swans are, by nature, elegant, graceful birds with a unique appearance.
Btw, congratulations to the photographer for these beautiful images😉

Thanks man :) Graceful birds indeed but in fact, they can be quite aggressive, even towards people. Saw that myself. But maybe only those who had some bad experience with humans, I don´t know... I personally believe that no animal can be naturally evil, unlike humans...

Wow, you are absolutely right that unlike animals only humans can be evil, we have to recognize that we are guests in their natural environment and not the other way around.
We have seen here in Romania attacks by bears on tourists who have ventured into our forests, and in these cases we humans are unwelcome guests in their natural environment, their actions are normal.
Cheers!

Yes, I know, these bear attacks sometimes happen even in Slovakia, the country of our eastern neighbors (and former Czechoslovakian brothers). The saddest thing in such cases is when the authorities decide to find and kill the bear that attacked someone. Just like you say, its their natural environment and we are the guests in there so we should respect them, not the other way around...

And here in Romania it used to be that after bear attacks they would be shot, but those who deal with the protection of animals and Natura 2000 intervened and these massacres stopped, now they anesthetize them and relocate them.
Cheers!

This is impressive. I am sorry the Hostivice Ponds did not give you entirely what you needed but it's beautiful the swam decided to grace you guys with her presence and her dance although you guys did not bring him any treats.

Thank you for sharing. I hope you'll get your offline activities in control soon so you can finally share with us what it is about.

All the best.

Ten článok mal super úspech 🙂 Na Slovensku hovoríme: Neháďž flintu do žita. Jednoducho urob článok a uvidíš, možno budeš prekvapený 😉
