Amazing people of Zanzibar, Tanzania - part 2

(Edited)

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

First of all, I would like to thank you guys for the absolutely amazing response to the first part of this series. Even though the post didn´t actually make it to the trending page, it still got dozens of nice comments and even more than a thousand of upvotes, which might well be the highest number of upvotes I have ever got on a single post :) Thank you so much! I take it as a proof that you really enjoy this content and I cannot wait to roll out the remaining parts of this photography mini series dedicated to the amazing people of Zanzibar. I thought I would publish the posts on Wednesdays, just I like did it last week with the opening post but I will probably be quite busy tomorrow so I hope you don´t mind me posting the second part of the series today on Tuesday.

Now if you haven´t checked out the first part yet, you can do it here before diving into the second batch of the photos that I recently took on Zanzibar and it´s quite recommended as the first part came with an introduction of Zanzibar and its people so you will understand the background of the pictures much better after reading the intro post. I think I also (partly subconsciously I guess) included most of my personal favorite shots in that post as I was so excited to start working on the series, browsing through all the pictures and editing them so yeah, the first batch was probably the best one but I still saved a lot of cool shots for the other parts of the series too and it´s my pleasure to share the second one with you now ;) Enjoy!

I hope you liked the pictures. As you have probably noticed, a decent portion of these photos were taken on the beach or in the ocean and that´s actually quite telling as the ocean is so important to the locals many of whom work as fishermen and seaweed farmers. I will definitely tell you more about these interesting traditions of the island in separate posts ;)

Thanks for your attention everyone and stay tuned for more travel content from this magical Tanzanian archipelago called Zanzibar. Until then... Hakuna Matata!

Congrats for getting highest upvote! That's something of a dream to me.

This series is gotta be my favorite one.... !LUV these Photos. Each and every pic tells a different story... Truly beautiful people and lovely place that is.

Looking forward to see more of this ahead!

Thank you :) That´s right, the pictures do tell stories. Stories of happiness despite materialistic shortage. Very inspiring and thought provoking stories for us Europeans ;)

Btw it was just the number of upvotes what was (probably) highest in the last post, not the actual payout ;)

These photos talks and really amazing. The kids are enjoying the sea water from close. And the first picture the kid is holding a crab for real! I can not even look at them from close, maybe they bites!

Yeah, the boy is holding a crab that he actually caught himself :) In fact, the crab was originally even bigger with the giant claws that the boy (for some reason) cut off and put in his bag :) The kids had so much fun playing in the ocean indeed. Thanks for checking out the photos.

You are scared of crabs? Come on, they are beautiful :) I actually used to have a pet crayfish, look at how handsome he was :)

Thank you Sofia! You are right, people photography is not an easy discipline and it was something I only very rarely ventured into before but our latest African adventure kind of changed my approach towards it, I actually wrote more about it in the first post ;) Thanks for your kind feedback again, I´m glad you liked the images! :)

As your incredible photography shows, the best way to get to experience a new place you're visiting is to find the locals and hang out with them!

You found paradise! @phortun

Exactly! We spent a lot of time with the locals and it was so much fun but also incredibly enlightening and inspiring. Well, as far as the tropical paradise is concerned, Zanzibar definitely fits in this category ;)

Thank you so much for this kind comment and for the generous TipU curation Nina, much appreciated!

In your opinion, what would be the best time/season to travel there with photography as main goal? ;)

!PIZZA

Well, Zanzibar is located just a few degrees off the equator so the weather is pretty much the same all year round. The locals are also there all year round so my answer would be anytime is a great time ;) Thanks for the pizza!

As I've heard a few times by bloggers from Asia, some of them are under two seasons only. Rain and dry season. Probably I should check that too before traveling there ;)
Thank you!

Yes, there is the rainy season in Zanzibar too but from what we heard, it´s not really much different. A short tropical shower once or a few times per day. It must be actually quite refreshing and enjoyable in the heat ;)

:D Celkovej dojem nezachránili ani ty frajeři s tou lidskou "pyramidou" (klobouk dolů by the way) a ani týpek v dresu Wolves... :D

Some days, but most days are amazing, I live for traveling, hiking, exploring and discovering new things. It gives me extra energy, and being amongst nature recharges me.

I am behind at the moment with Hive, and definitely less active… but I do my best 😎🤓 to be there for my friends and support.
Have an awesome week further @phortun 👋🏻

Wow. What a set of travel portraits you've captured.
That world is so far away from ours in many regards. I'd definitely like to learn more about their traditions and culture.

Thanks buddy! Right, their world cannot be more different than ours, yet I found it fascinating and inspiring. Africa must be a real paradise for photographers who like to take pictures of people. Hope you will make it there too, I´m sure you would take tons of spectacular shots there...

Hopefully I'll have that chance ;) My idea was to explore Europe first (not that this is anywhere near possible :))) and then travel to the Far East. Friends of mine went to Serengeti soon and they were enchanted. So many places and time is never enough :)
Thinking from another perspective, with life getting almost unbearably expensive in our old Europe, probably that's the best time to travel to Asia & Africa...

The rampant inflation in Europe is a very good point actually. We have already lived in Latin America before and we are so tempted now to relocate to some cheaper (sub)tropical location again. Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, these are known to be the hotspots for nomads and expats. Maybe we will meet you at one of these places soon :)

I´m sure they would hate to be locked in the office from 9 to 5. Their lifestyle may be simple but probably happier and more rewarding than the lives of many people in developed parts of the world...

Thanks for the curation! Much appreciated :)

Another wonderful selection of photographs with an unusual visual power... There is a lot of humanity in each image, colors that capture the eye and a rich light that perfectly conveys the atmosphere of Zamzibar and its wonderful people, great work on this second part @phortun friend!... Lovely, what a refreshing landscape and with its wonderful people, you can tell the quiet life they live there by the sea that gives them everything. They have sustenance and fun thanks to the ocean, as the song says, in the sea life is tastier :D Greetings friend @phortun and blessings :)

Yeah, the acrobats were amazing. And they didn´t even have a gym to work out and practise, just the little concrete spot. Impressive indeed. I don´t actually know what the boys were catching but there must have been something in the water, they looked so focused :D
