Flowery Morning Walk ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒธ .:. A Short Botany Class

I'm proud to say that this was the "real" #WednesdayWalk as I did take it this morning, on Wednesday, and not on some other day as usual... ๐Ÿ˜ƒ The idea was the same as the whole this summer, to go out for a walk early before the sun goes up... As usual, the idea failed and I went out a bit before 9 AM and it was already hot... ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

01.jpg

So, I didn't take a long walk as I was half-cooked after only an hour, but I was determined to take as many as possible photos of flowers on my short route... I will try to search on the Internet for the exact names of these flowers and learn something new... Before getting into it, FYI, most of these flowers are growing OUTSIDE, on the street, or growing over the fences, in the town where I live...

02.jpg

The first one is the Blue dawnflower (Convolvulaceae) which is usually grown on fences, Also, I saw it by the river where I like to walk, growing on the ground and not as a climber...

03.jpg

This is probably the most popular plant in the area... It is called the Great bougainvillea (Nyctaginaceae), and I have taken probably hundreds of photos of this one... It is the first choice for people who want to create a beautiful live fence...

18.jpg

04.jpg

This one is maybe the second choice for a live fence... :) The Common Trumpet-creeper (Bignoniaceae)...

05.jpg

When I was close to the beach, I took a couple of photos for all those beach lovers on HIVE... This was around 9 AM... The "dark effect" came because of the sun...

06.jpg

07.jpg

08.jpg

Most of you have probably recognized this one... It is the Hawaiian hibiscus (Malvaceae) and it can be spotted here very often... Again, used as a live fence, or just like an ordinary plant... To make your garden prettier... ๐Ÿ™‚

09.jpg

10.jpg

...I'm leaving the beach with the last look at the Tai Chi Chuan people... ๐Ÿ™‚

11.jpg

I'm not sure about this one, as the Internet says differently, but it could be something like the Common wild jasmine (Oleaceae)... It has a very strong scent...

12.jpg

This is one of the very popular flowers in the area... Local people call it "Banderita Espaรฑola" because it usually has these two colors of the Spanish flag... But, you can find it in many different colors... The real name should be the Lantana (Verbenaceae)...

13.jpg

14.jpg

This one isn't everyone's favorite, but it is mine... I like this blue color and as this is another "climbing" plant, your fence will look gorgeous when the plant blooms! The name is Plumbago (Plumbaginaceae)...

15.jpg

16.jpg

These flowers are very tiny (like a little fingernail), but when they are many, the whole plant looks beautiful... Also, the structure of the flower itself is interesting as it looks like a lot of mess... lol... The name is the Myrtle-leaf milkwort (Polygalaceae)...

17.jpg

This one looks like Jasmin, but it's not... It is Glossy abelia (Caprifoliaceae), and it has an even stronger scent than Jasmin... Sometimes, if there are a lot of flowers blooming, I have to go on the other side of the street to avoid the TOO strong scent! You can't breathe...

19.jpg

Another climbing plant that can be found in the area, is Pink trumpetvine (Bignoniaceae)...

20.jpg

21.jpg

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this small patio was one of those guessing games that @livinguktaiwan occasionally creates... ๐Ÿ˜‚ The question would be something like: "How many different things you can find in the photo?" The only problem is that I don't know if the owner knows the right answer... ๐Ÿ˜‚

22.jpg

This is part of the plants from the local Mexican food restaurant... To be more authentic, as you can see, they have a lot of cactus plants...

23.jpg

24.jpg

Speaking of favorite flowers, I forgot about this one... The Golden Dewdrops (Verbenaceae), with this amazing dark purple color! They are tiny, but when they are "in the group", you can't "unsee" them... ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

25.jpg

26.jpg

This is a local classic... The same as for Bougainvillea, I have probably hundreds of photos of the Oleander (Apocynaceae)... It grows in the wild too and I can't understand how it can survive with just a few drops of water for months! Almost like a cactus...

27.jpg

28.jpg

It's not the roses season, but I found this one... Unfortunately, even when it is a rose season, I can't see them in the area... The Internet says that this one is a French rose (Rosaceae)...

29.jpg

These two beautiful Canna Lily (Cannaceae) plants are planted in the restaurant near my home... Can't decide which one is prettier, the red or the yellow...

30.jpg

31.jpg

32.jpg

And for the end, something that's not a flower as it's turned already into fruit... Not edible yet, but it will be soon... As the tree is growing in my neighbor's garden, I know exactly which one it is... It could be orange as there are a lot in the area, but this is a grapefruit, or Pomelo (Rutaceae)!

I hope you liked my short walk today... I have learned a lot while I was writing this post... Didn't know many of these flowers... Btw., if you have a photo of a plant, and you would like to know what it is called, check this plant identifier website... It worked great in this post's preparation! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Thank you for your time! ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒธ

Great WW, I was wondering why Hive was so quiet this morning. I think I like the beach part the best, looks like you have a nice promenade to walk along too.

Hehehehe... It was quiet by the sea too! ๐Ÿ™‚
The promenade is great as you can walk to the next town, but I like more to go on different paths... less touristic... ๐Ÿ™‚

It's one thing to actually know how to shoot, decide what to shoot or even understand what is picture worthy. You're doing a good job with your photo techniques.

Most of these flowers have names, but you'd have to look them up to be certain. From the looks of things, weather should be really hot

Awww... Thank you so much for your kind words... I'm doing my photos with my phone, so not too much of techniques there... But I like certain "compositions" (if that's the word), like that sun with the "lifeguard chair" ๐Ÿ™‚, or the last one with sun rays...

We mostly do our photography with our phones (except for a few on hive) and even as at that, it takes a bit of creativity to know the right shot to take lool. It's still a big thing to know how to do in my opinion hahaha.

Nice walk!

What happens with Gran bougainvillea (Nyctaginaceae) is that when pruning the thorns are like tiger claws. I always end up in strips and harpooned.

From Hawaiian hibiscus (Malvaceae) you can make tea. And one day I ate it raw at the botanical garden restaurant, as part of a salad.

Many of these plants are here. I hope one day to be able to make my own wildflower garden. But I shy away from gardening a bit. I need to keep seeing posts like this and about gardening.

Hibiscus tea is one of my favorites, but I never tried it raw! As tea has a pretty strong taste, I suppose that it is mixed with other vegetables in the salad...

But I shy away from gardening a bit. I need to keep seeing posts like this and about gardening.

Hehehehe... People have to "haunt" you with posts like this to start gardening... ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Thanks for the visit! Have an awesome day!

Yes, mixed in with other things, there were also squash blossoms, as I remember. I thought it was a crime to eat the squash blossoms because the fruit could be better used.

Thanks for the visit! Have an awesome day!

You are welcome... have a wonderful day too.
