Family Walk in Nature - Double Enjoyment

avatar

Who says there are no great trails around my new place? Me? Oh, yes, I was the one who said that... πŸ€¦β€β™‚ Anyways, this one is slowly getting under my skin as it ticks all the boxes... It's over 90% wild, narrow path, no people, some water, animal wildlife, + nice sun rays in the late afternoon hours... Let me take you on a nice, late afternoon #WednesdayWalk...

IMG_20260221_173320.jpg

It's not that I wanted to pick exactly those hours for a walk (family negotiations involved πŸ˜€), but it was nice to be there at the "golden hour"...

When you see my shadow, you get how late it was... On the image on the left, the sun is almost set behind the hill, and on the right, my shadow barely fits into the photo... πŸ˜‚

Some nice flowers along the trail and my favorite "wild flower", rosemary... Every time I pass, I have to "cuddle" it between my fingers... Love the smell! In some traditions, rosemary is used during the funeral ceremonies, and because of that reason, I know that my mom doesn't like it... As it reminds her of some dear family members who passed away...

I call this "Cane Trilogy"! Three photos, which I can't decide which one I like the most! The second is so calming, and the third, with sunrays... love it!

This trail is a kind of river bed, with a difference that the river has almost disappeared... Occasionally, you can spot a bit of water here or there, and then suddenly, it disappears... After a few meters downstream, you can notice it again...

IMG_20260221_173105.jpg

The proof that sometimes, in the past, it had much more water is the remains of the old mill that you can see on the left side of the photo above...

I was so lucky with the weather... It was perfect for taking these half-closeup photos of plants and flowers...

... and of course, playing with sunrays...

Watch your head! During the walk, and around exactly this spot, I noticed a rabbit passing the trail! It was easy to recognize it as it had long ears... It was fast, but the ears betrayed him... πŸ™‚

On the other side, in one of these thick reeds, we heard a louder sound of an animal moving through it... That rabbit was moving so silently that we didn't hear anything, but the animal in the cane was probably much bigger... If I were to guess which was, my bet would be on the wild boar... They are very common in places like that...

A bit more of sunrays before hitting the path back to the car...

IMG_20260221_180304.jpg

I mentioned that rivers appear suddenly in different places... Well, at this one, you can even spot a small waterfall! How cool is that?!

IMG_20260221_181150.jpg

And at the bottom of a waterfall, a small pond was created... What are those small black animals inside the water? It looks like water is completely black!! Can you guess?

This last photo is a bit creepy... πŸ˜ƒ But, I had to take it as I wanted to make a joke with my son... This "thing" was in the backyard of the restaurant where my son parked his car nearby... As there was a sign forbidding parking, he parked on the other side of the road... The joke was that the restaurant owner was hanging peeps who would park in front of the restaurant and leave for a walk, instead of staying for a meal... I know, I know... too dark joke... hehehe

Have an awesome rest of the week!

Thank you for your time.

Nice. It looks wilder than your previous trips. Those are frog tadpoles. Every day, I look at the lake in the park to see when they will appear. It's not warm enough here yet.

I enjoyed the long walk, and the pictures made it all interesting and fun.
That shadow picture is cute, you should share it in Shadow Hunter's contest. πŸ˜‚

Nature is incredible! Of course, they're tadpoles. They're actually bigger than the ones I usually see around here. Did you zoom in on them to snap?

I don’t know how big the wild boars are in your area, but I’ve seen what a wild boar can do when it’s angry or frightened. I wouldn’t risk walking along that path β€” it’s a very dangerous animal!

The restaurant owner with the gallows isn’t nearly as scary as a wild boar. πŸ˜„

What are those blue plastic things planted on the ground?

Easy with the black things on water, it's tadpoles, been a while since I seen them last time, cement and city is just killing them

Nice photos. I need to go out more and see nature. I think those black things are tadpoles. I remember seeing them before during some field trip, but I haven't seen any out in nature before.

What beautiful photos! You've taken photos of flowers again! I love the scent of rosemary, and rosemary oil is good for muscle pain.

And this photo... beautiful, of course, along with many others (I don't think you can see the photos in the comments, it's number 16).

How can there not be beautiful places near where you live? There's no sea, but that natural space is beautiful!

The last photo... hahaha, perfect for my horror stories!πŸ˜†
