I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.

I started my poultry farm business some years ago, five years if I'm to be precised, that's immediately after I was done observing my youth service corps and the historical antecedent of the price of feed since that time still rings bell in my head. If you are a poultry farmer who rears birds consistently just like myself, the price of feed and how its started rising since then till now will not be something hard to come by if you are asked to name a few. For me it's not going to be a shock or a thing of surprise before I will have my take on.

The historical antecedent of the price of feed in Nigeria.

Concerning the price feed for broiler chicken which we have categories of them such prestarter, starter, finisher, grower and many of them but I'm conversant with using prestarter and starter only because their contents qualities are not far from each other. I could recall when I started the poultry farm business, I remember buying a bag of feed as low as N3,400 equivalent to $3.5 in current naira yo dollar rate. The price at that was stagnant for more one year and some months before inflation started hitting the market of the price of goods and services. Note that it's all sphere of businesses that were affected by the inflation of price and goods and services.

At a point, the inflation wasn't as fast as it is now compare to three or four years ago. The inflation of price of things were slower compare to now that it's now on speedy rise without the possibility of stopping anytime soon. From N3,400, the price started inflating from that point to N16,100($17) the current price. The inflation of the price of feed at a point became frustrating that some of my business colleagues have stopped rearing broiler chicken for business. Just imagine the gap in between then and now.

The frustrating aspect of the whole thing is the attitude and behavior of all these retailers, they have this habit of increasing the price of feed when they haven't even finished the ones they already have stock.
