POULTRY FARM AND FEEDING MANAGEMENT:AM I OVERFEEDING MY BIRDS?

I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.

This particular content is just a call for concern about how I feed my birds. In the last couple of Months, I have been wondering about the increment of feeding a fifty birds from day old to seven weeks with seven bags of feed to eight bags that have increased from seven bags of feed to ten or eleven bags of feed. The last time I posted about this, someone gave his opinion that it may be due to genetics means or thereabout. Which I partially agreed.

But after keen observation in the last couple of weeks, I observed that, part of the reasons why the feeding keeps increasing is down to my own feeding management. Normally, I'm one of the Farmers that overfeed Birds. I don't know maybe that overfeeding should leads to that huge increment of number of feeds. Most times when I ask my co farmers the number of feeds they use on 50 birds, they will tell me at most 8 or 9 while I'm using 10 to 11 bags of feed.

Then I thought of maybe I'm feeding my birds when it's not necessary. According my findings, both on and off line findings, I have seen many farmers telling me they don't feed their birds during day time when there's heat because heat reduces the feeding conversion rate on broiler birds. That the best time to feed birds is during the morning time and night time. But this is me feeding my birds in every hour of the day. It's through this means that I discovered that broiler feed conversion happens mostly when the weather is cold, cool and calm.

Even sometimes I thought of their tray feeders, maybe that's why the number of feed keeps increasing because if you see how these birds waste my feed, it's so pitiful. This is how their wasting habit started from. They clutch away feed with their feet.
