I ORDERED MY DAY OLD BIRDS AT THE RATE OF N330(0.8$) TO CURB HIGH COST OF PRODUCTION AS IT HAPPENED IN MY PREVIOUS BATCH.
I am sorry I have to use the word "volatility" in this contest because I know that the word volatility is largely used related to cryptocurrency rate. Cryptocurrency volatility occurs every seconds which makes it highly volatile. Same thing goes with the price rate of when you order for doc in every Mondays and Thursdays of every week. The price rate of day old birds changes for every Monday and Thursday of every week.
In one of my recent posts, I talked about taking advantage of price of day old birds, using it in turn to make an early business gain. The last batch of birds I reared were ordered at the rate of N650 if I am not mistaking which I reared for about 6 to 8 weeks or thereabouts. Though it depends on how I was quick or lucky enough to market and empty my stock.
The last birds I reared before I ordered for this present ones that are going to clock 2 weeks in the next 2 days. I found it a bit difficult to empty my stock quick because of swing in demand for dressed chicken. Lot of reasons are responsible for the slow down in sales of the birds despite they have reached to harvest and while also their feeding inefficient was reaching the end point. One of the reasons is that, students who the dressed chicken is based on are on break for election, so that slowed down the sales of my chicken.
While that was standing as a stumbling block to bring in new day birds because I was still having the bigger birds. On three good occasions, I witnessed the day old birds price fall below N300 but because I was still having the bigger birds around and feeding them heavily. That made me to miss the chances of being in new day old birds.
When the opportunity of the price of day old birds was becoming slimmer, I had to result to my abandoned option and the option is bringing in new day birds while the bigger ones are outgoing. I have this other small room that is nearby my bigger pen. As I have said, the price of the day old birds was going higher as it used to be, I quickly resulted in my old pattern of "rotation policy". So I had to grab that opportunity at that rate of N330 so that I won't have much high cost of production just it did in the just concluded batch.
For the next few weeks that I will have the intention of bringing in new ones, I dont have to be worried about the birds price. Maybe in the next 5 to 6 weeks, I will have to watching the day old birds price volatility as it swings back and forth.
I love the experience you mostly share about birds. With the price change experience shared, I can comfortably know when to avoid buying birds at a higher price.
Yeah
The price of day old birds is very dodgy for someone who rearing it for business on daily basis you know. There are times that you won't have no other choice than to buy at that high price. Most times I buy at high prices but when the price is low, I take it as an opportunity to lower my cost of production and indirectly turn it to early gain.
You rear Broiler birds? I would love it if you can take your time to share on your blog. Thanks for stopping by Momma.🤗🤗🤗
I hopeyou can still get some profit out of the situation.
Yeah
But you know the cost of production was high so cut down my a bit. Thanks for stopping by.
