Seriously when I was Teenager, that was when I used to see lot of mushroom around but I didn't have a clue or neither knowledge about the bunch of mushroom we had around. I have usual places that we used to see these mushrooms. Some grow among trees, on a large dumping ground and some in a bushy part.

But at some points,as I was growing leaving my teenager stage, these mushrooms seemed to go into extinction which I don't really have any tangible reason why this is so. Also I could remember that it has this particular one that my desist Mum of blessed memory used to cook for us,most especially cooked with egunsi soup. It taste is unique, more like a chicken meat. I can't really describe or remember the taste but I know it tasted good then. And that's the last time I tasted it, about 15 to 19 years ago.

To say the truth I don't know anything about this mushroom, all what I know is it's growing besides the woods in my poultry farm. To have knowledge about it, I had to use Google lens to know the kind of mushroom it's and it showed that it's an "oyster mushroom".

It has health benefits and it claimed to improve heart functioning. The remainder of the facts about the mushroom can be found here

Yeah, it is called fungicide :o)
People use a lot less of raw wood that is needed for such mushrooms to grow around them. Now when you want to build something for example to the garden, it's going to be made with wood that is impregnated with a mix of chemicals to protect it against elements, insects and mushrooms.
