The red admiral, Vanessa atalanta / Rusałka admirał [ENG/PL]

The Red Admiral is a beautiful butterfly that I often see in my garden from May to October. It has a wingspan of about 6 cm, so it is large. Due to the black and orange colors of its wings, the photos look very nice, especially against the background of flowers and leaves.

These butterflies come to us (Poland) from southern Europe. Here these reproduce, but there is only one generation per year.

During the photo session, I noticed that this butterfly was fighting with another butterfly, the peacock butterfly, for space on the flowers. Even though there were many other flowers around. This butterfly seemed to like being photographed, it didn't run away even when I was quite close.

Rusałka admirał to piękny motyl, którego często widzę w moim ogrodzie od maja do października. Ma około 6 cm rozpiętości skrzydeł, więc jest duży. Ze względu na swoje czarne i pomarańczowe kolory skrzydeł zdjęcia wychodzą bardzo ładne, zwłaszcza na tle kwiatów i liści.

Do nas przylatują te motyle z południowej Europy. Tutaj rozmnaża się, ale pojawia się przy tym jedno pokolenie na rok.

W czasie sesji zdjęciowej zauważyłem, że ten motyl walczy z innym motylem, rusałką pawie oczko, o miejsce na kwiatach. Mimo, że wokół było dużo innych kwiatów. Motyl ten sprawiał wrażenie, że lubi być fotografowany, nie uciekał, nawet gdy byłem całkiem blisko.

Bardzo się cieszę, że udało mi się zrobić te zdjęcia 😀
