Life in a meadow

I came home from work yesterday and I was thinking: What am I going to post on HIVE? I have a lot of material in my stash, but what if I shoot something fresh? It's June, and thanks to daylight saving time, it's been light for a long time. I grabbed my camera and went outside.

It wasn't a long walk. Even though it was evening, it was still pretty hot, and I didn't feel like walking very far. I just came to a meadow next to the railroad tracks. Usually there's nothing interesting at first glance, just uncut grass and weeds.

But only at first glance. In fact, the meadow is quite alive. Bees, for example. They're inconspicuous, and often you don't even notice them. But if you focus on them, you'll notice they're everywhere. And bumblebees, tiny butterflies, crickets, and snails on the ground.

I was hoping to get a picture of a butterfly. I mean a big and colorful one. But I wasn't lucky. I must have been in the wrong place and I guess they are not that active in the evening. So next time...

I posted this article to the "Amazing Nature" group. I don't know if the nature I depicted is "amazing" enough, but I hope it doesn't matter. It's nothing breathtaking, it's just such ordinary photos of an ordinary meadow. But maybe you will like them.
