A little more macro photography

Here we go again with another round of macro photography! I've got these phases where a specific genre totally captures my creative spirit, and right now, macro is my absolute jam. You're going to see plenty of these close-up shots, whether you like it or not.

We're kicking things off with flies - because of course we are. The first one I caught on a wilted flower on my balcony, and the second perched on a stone near some water. I tried to be clever and identify the exact species, but even iNaturalist threw up its hands in confusion.

)

Next up: a hornet. While some people have a total panic attack at the sight of these creatures, I'm actually a big fan. Hornets are surprisingly chill and basically harmless if you don't mess with them.

I once had a hornet nest right on my porch, and we coexisted pretty peacefully. The best part? They took care of all the nasty, annoying insects around. If they could just produce honey, they'd be the perfect backyard companion.

The hornet in this shot was just stopping by for a quick drink and couldn't care less about my presence. In fact, it went out of its way to turn its back on me - total insect attitude.

)

Where there are insects, spiders aren't far behind. The food chain doesn't play by shortcuts. I'm no arachnologist (only a bit arachnophobic), but something tells me this spider lady might be expecting. Could we be looking at a future generation of tiny eight-legged friends?!

)

Let's wrap up with a tiny damselfly. Despite its minuscule size, it boasts an incredible wing mechanism. Barely noticeable to the naked eye, photography reveals its intricate design.

Damselflies are the smaller cousins of dragonflies, with comically wide-set eyes that give them a quirky appearance. But don't let their delicate looks fool you - in the insect world, even these tiny creatures are ruthless predators.

Hey, I wanted to give you a heads up about something exciting: I'm launching a photography challenge called "Same But Different". If you think this might spark your interest (or know someone who might be interested) ->

I love micro shots and when you do like that, it's beautiful and you can't distinguish what is it. 😁😅. Anyway, i love the photos you took.
