WA South Coast 4x4 adventures with 4wd TV
Over the last few months I have been working with 4wdTV, they produce several 4x4 TV shows, I've mostly been on stills, but also some drone footage. First project I worked on with them was Western Australian based, we filmed a meet up of 4x4 enthusiasts doing the powerlines track near Perth.
You can watch some of what we filmed and photographed here:
From Perth we headed to the south coast to a town called Denmark (yes, we have a town with the same name as the country) where I mapped out some of the more scenic parts we could visit and film in.
The beaches near Denmark are absolutely incredible and many of them are open to drive on (the sensitive ones are closed to all vehicles) if you have an appropriate vehicle.
They are good fun to drive on and it enables you to access some of the more remote areas that would otherwise be completely inaccessible.
Here are some of the photos from the trip
Some of the other episodes are here:
Bornholm Beach has the reputation of having Australia's toughest beach exit, during summer it has claimed many vehicles. I've been up and down it quite a few times in my old 4x4 vehicle and while it was challenging, I never had any issues.
I think any decently equipped 4x4 would handle it given the right driver. You pick the right line, right tyre pressure and a bit of momentum, you should be fine. That said, the farmer at the top of the dunes makes a decent amount of money each summer rescuing drivers who can't get back up off the beach.
After Bornholm we headed to some near by mud tracks to try to get to the river... it didn't quite work out that way though.
Hope you enjoy the photos and episdoes, I'll be posting more over the coming weeks!

Sorry, just realised that I'd already posted some of these photos... I picked up an old draft that was waiting for the episodes to be added in.
