La joya de La Coronela[es/en]

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una experiencia increíble que tuve gracias a mi trabajo como especialista del CITMA, el cual me ha llevado a recorrer muchos lugares de Artemisa en Cuba, y recientemente, tuve la oportunidad de visitar el campismo La Coronela en el municipio Caimito de la provincia Artemisa. Este viaje fue parte de una evaluación ambiental que estaba realizando del lugar y debo decir que me sorprendió gratamente y quedé impresionado con la belleza natural que encontré allí.
Desde el momento en que llegué, me sorprendió lo bien cuidado que estaba el campismo. La mayoría de las estructuras habían sido remodeladas recientemente, y se notaba el esfuerzo que habían hecho por mantener todo en buenas condiciones, lo que mejora mucho la calidad de la estancia de los visitantes. Además, había varias áreas de juego y recreación para los visitantes, como una pista de baile y un ranchón para pasar el tiempo, así como un lugar de baño bien delimitado en la presa el cual cuenta con una gran canal o tobogán.
Aunque alrededor de unos 600 metros de las instalaciones de alojamiento del campismo se encuentra lo que para mí es la verdadera joya de La Coronela, y es que allí entre exuberante vegetación típica de la zona y algunas montañitas, al final de unas escondidas escaleras había un pequeño arroyo con una cascada que desprendía la mayor paz, relajación y tranquilidad del mundo. En el lugar no había absolutamente nadie, podía pasarme horas allí contemplando la belleza del lugar y aun así seguir impresionándome como si fuera la primera vez que la viera. El sonido del agua cayendo, los ruidos del bosque y la tranquilidad de estar prácticamente solo hacen de esa cascada un lugar verdaderamente mágico que te pone en contacto directamente con la naturaleza y aunque no es muy grande, todos estos factores y lo hermoso del lugar hacen que la experiencia valga la pena.
El campismo además cuenta con una gran variedad de especies de flora y fauna que pueden ser apreciadas en los alrededores. La presa, aunque puede ser vista como un elemento artificial, ha generado una nueva zona de hábitat para muchas especies, lo cual es interesante desde un punto de vista ecológico. Además, el hecho de que el campismo esté ubicado en una zona rural, rodeado de campos y montañas, también permite una gran cantidad de avistamientos de aves y otros animales.
Por lo general, cuando le preguntas a alguien de Artemisa por este campismo, no suelen dar muy buenas opiniones debido a que la presa les causa miedo y no la ven como un lugar seguro. Sin embargo, puedo asegurarles que La Coronela es un campismo imperdible si buscan disfrutar de una experiencia natural y relajante y más aún, si quieres visitar esa hermosa cascada.
Para mí, viajar por el trabajo no es solo una oportunidad de evaluar lugares y educar en temas ambientales, sino también una oportunidad de conocer lugares hermosos como este. Me encanta ver la belleza de la naturaleza y encontrarme con joyas como la cascada del campismo La Coronela. Además, me hace feliz saber que mi trabajo contribuye a preservar estos lugares y a concientizar a las personas sobre su importancia, ya que a menudo, los visitantes no son conscientes de la huella que pueden dejar en estos lugares, y es importante educar y sensibilizar al respecto.
En resumen, mi visita al campismo La Coronela fue una experiencia muy enriquecedora tanto en lo personal como en lo profesional. Además si estás buscando un lugar tranquilo para escapar del ruido y el estrés de la ciudad y disfrutar de la naturaleza, el campismo La Coronela es definitivamente una excelente opción. La cascada es un lugar mágico que te transporta a otro mundo y te permite olvidarte de todo. Además, el personal es amable y las instalaciones están en buen estado. ¡No te lo pierdas!

Today I want to share with you an incredible experience that I had thanks to my job as a specialist in CITMA, which has led me to travel to many places in Artemisa, and recently, I had the opportunity to visit the La Coronela campsite in the municipality of Caimito in the province of Artemisa. This trip was part of an environmental evaluation that I was conducting of the place and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the natural beauty that I found there.
From the moment I arrived, I was surprised by how well-maintained the campsite was. Most of the structures had been recently renovated, and the effort they had made to keep everything in good condition was noticeable, which greatly improves the quality of the visitors' stay. In addition, there were several play and recreation areas for visitors, such as a dance floor and a ranchon to spend time, as well as a well-defined bathing area in the reservoir which has a large canal or slide.
Although about 600 meters from the campsite accommodation facilities is what for me is the real jewel of La Coronela, and that is there among lush vegetation typical of the area and some little mountains, at the end of some hidden stairs, there was a small stream with a waterfall that gave off the greatest peace, relaxation, and tranquility in the world. There was absolutely no one there, I could spend hours there contemplating the beauty of the place and still be impressed as if it were the first time I saw it. The sound of the water falling, the sounds of the forest, and the tranquility of being practically alone make that waterfall a truly magical place that puts you directly in touch with nature and although it is not very large, all these factors and the beauty of the place make the experience worthwhile.
The campsite also has a great variety of flora and fauna species that can be appreciated in the surroundings. The reservoir, although it can be seen as an artificial element, has generated a new habitat zone for many species, which is interesting from an ecological point of view. In addition, the fact that the campsite is located in a rural area, surrounded by fields and mountains, also allows for a great number of bird and other animal sightings.
Usually, when you ask someone from Artemisa about this campsite, they do not give very good opinions because the reservoir scares them and they do not see it as a safe place. However, I can assure you that La Coronela is an unmissable campsite if you are looking to enjoy a natural and relaxing experience and even more so, if you want to visit that beautiful waterfall.
For me, traveling for work is not only an opportunity to evaluate places and educate on environmental issues, but also an opportunity to know beautiful places like this. I love to see the beauty of nature and to find jewels like the waterfall at La Coronela campsite. In addition, it makes me happy to know that my work contributes to preserving these places and raising awareness about their importance, since visitors are often unaware of the footprint they can leave in these places, and it is important to educate and sensitize people about it.
In summary, my visit to the La Coronela campsite was a very enriching experience both personally and professionally. Additionally, if you are looking for a quiet place to escape from the noise and stress of the city and enjoy nature, La Coronela campsite is definitely an excellent option. The waterfall is a magical place that transports you to another world and allows you to forget about everything. In addition, the staff is friendly and the facilities are in good condition. Don't miss it!

Verdaderamente el lugar está genial, y prácticamente no va nadie porque es poco conocido y no es tan accesible, incluso estando el campismo lleno de campistas el lugar estaba vacío, con lugar me refiero a la cascada 🏞️
