... has it been that long?

Time flies, doesn't it?

It seems a lifetime ago, when blockchains and cryptocurrencies weren't part of my daily life; now, they're everpresent. I still remember a cousin posting frequently on facebook about Bitcoin, and how my curiosity started to grow. Not long after, I was googling all I could about btc and cryptos, and learning how social networks where likes were replaced for real currencies were already a reality. And time kept flying... until today.

Six freakin' years!!!

Has it been that long? Hivebuzz says it, and although I haven't started posting until May 2018, this was probably the day my registration on the blockchain was accepted!

Roaming through the lush jungles of Costa Rica when I received that confirmation, I couldn't at that time imagine that I would be posting about my travels, my wildlife photos, and a little bit of everything in between on a regular basis, and continue to do so for 6 years, with more or less regularity.

And although I always liked photography, truth be told that the taste and technique evolved a lot since I started posting, due to the will to improve and also to the great advice following the blogs of so many good photographers around here.

Since photography is one of my main topics here, and the focus on nature and wildlife is likely not going away, it seems a good way to celebrate these 6 years by posting one photo from each year, starting with Costa Rica in 2018, passing by a serene portuguese landscape in Alentejo visiting good friends in 2019, to a breathtaking view of the italian mountains near lake Como in 2020.

Bear markets, bull markets, a global turmoil with a pandemic event, these last years were ripe on happenings. But life goes on nevertheless, and 2021 blessed me with a trip to Açores and being able to see dolphins fooling around, with the biggest portuguese mountain in the horizon.

More important than what I shared though, is all I received: an insane amount of knowledge, not only from our blockchain but of all the cryptospace in general. And the chance to interact and learn with amazing people from all over the world, that also chose to stick around in our little web3 home; fostering virtual friendships, and being even able to transform some of them in real ones. 2022 could be illustrated by a lot of photos, but this one sums it perfectly:

I dare you to find a medal with a better inscription! Hivefest completely blew my expectations, and it was awesome to put a face in so many familiar names, and meet even more amazing people for the first time during those days. Maybe an encore in 2024? Fingers crossed

2023 hasn't brought that many good memories, having been a particular shitty year; I was glad to see it gone.

Being able to visit the only portuguese National Park, 20 years after my last visit, was one of the year's highlights.

And now, here's 2024!

A year that hopefully marks the beginning of a massive bull run, the year of another BTC halving, the year where hopefully I'll make up for all the lost travels in 2023, and keep growing my knowledge. And where I'll keep sharing some of the cool sceneries this world has to offer, as well as some ramblings, with you! Thank you for being part of this journey with me... and let's find out together where will we be six years from now, shall we? 🙂
