Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I'm not much of the end of year deep thinker/planner, but do take a few minutes to reflect on the old year and what to focus on the new one... but I'm starting 2026 the same way I've finished 2025, travelling! So with so much to see and do, the reflection periods will have to wait, at least for now.

Can't say 2025 was a bad year, but it wasn't a great one either. One thing is sure, ending with a view like this is something I can't really complain about!

Egypt was not on my travel list, but given the usual procrastination in planning (definitely something to work on 2026), it seemed the best choice for this time of the year. And seeing live the only one of the 7 wonders of the world (the original ones!) still standing was truly awesome.

Ancient egiptian civilizations are not short of amazing, and it's crazy to learn on how much we still don't know about it.

Another thing I wasn't expecting, was to have horses and camels parked at the hotel's entrance.

But hey, that's one of the joys of traveling, leaving the confort zone and learning to adapt to different realities! 😁

Cairo's traffic was another surprise. I had read about the chaos, but this is another level. I thought crossing the street in some asian cities was challenging, but it was easy mode compared to some of the places here.

Nevertheless, I enjoy seeing the different realities. Opening the horizons is one of the reasons why everyone should travel, if they have the chance!

Given that I had the chance to travel quite a bit so far, I feel so fortunate. And seeing how the world is evolving and how humanity seems to be regressing, I want to take every chance I get to enjoy it. Do hope 2026 is a year where wars come to an end and some sense comes back to the ones making the world a worse place. One can dream, right?

In the meanwhile, let's enjoy what we can, because you never know what life throws your way. And traveling is for me one of the best ways to enjoy it!

So whatever makes you feel alive... go for it now, because time doesn't turn back.
