These are the mountain views that I like best…

…as the beauty of the clouds below the mountain peaks can take so many different forms.
084.jpg

I can tell you that this was one of those different days, as although the afternoon sun was up, a cold breeze reminded us that winter is on our doorstep.

But of course, fabulous views were all around, and it is always a photographer's dream to get the ideal conditions for nature photography. I don't use a tripod, as I shoot freehand, and I also don't use AI or Photoshop. The problem that I find lately, for some reason, is that I get the shakes, but I presume that it is linked to ageing, not a very pleasant condition for a photographer, as steadiness is essential. But still, I refuse to use a tripod. There are also some other reasons for my not using a tripod, as one has to screw the camera down on top of it, and if a bird like the famous African Fish Eagle comes flying over at speed, then a tripod makes it impossible to get on camera due to the clumsiness of the tripod.

A wider view of the clouds strangling the mountain peaks.

I know that one cannot see the mountain's detail, but I blame the light for that.

Look at this shot below for instance.
072.JPG

For instance, here is a closer shot of the picture above, and still, one cannot see any crevices or clear views of the rocks and the peaks.
073.JPG

But the far-off shots have a beauty of their own.

The late afternoon sun was hiding behind that cloud.

Finally, this was the view when we arrived back home.

I try to keep my posts interesting by posting many different views, to show you the beauty of our country. Now I can start to share the bad news, and there is plenty of it, but it is the same all over the world, and not necessary to emphasise in my posts, as beauty is more important to me. Nature is a perfect example of how life is meant to be, but mankind in their rush after riches continues to destroy nature, a sad state. Further up north in the country, are many mines and when the mines are abandoned the scars in the earth are not rehabilitated and it is a big eyesore. Mine dumps of extracted soil are also left just like that, with the excuse that the grass will just grow up and cover them, but not to be, as it doesn't fit into the surrounding nature.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

the second picture looks amazing. the fresh green grass in the front makes the atmosphere more lively. the shape of the clouds above the mountain is very interesting, like a very soft silk blanket.

An excellent description of the views, and the forms of the clouds on the mountains also hold me transfixed at times.

Cape is beautiful no matter where you go along the peninsula mountains or sea to set you free from daily burden. Talking about the problems never solves them, might as spend time in nature sharing your dreams there.

Trust you are both well.

Thank you, Lady Joan, and yes, I agree with your statement. Nature is the best place to share one's dreams.
The latest news is that an Elephant Seal was jumping trampoline on a car in Gordon's Bay. It was headed inland, and the emergency services parked their cars into a barrier shape to prevent the seal from crossing over the roads. So, the seal tried to climb over the cars. !LOL

Thank you we are as well as can be at this stage of the fight with our health problems.
I hope that all is well now also at your end.

Not finding time enough to be here as often as previous, hope to settle and find firm footing once again soon.

Elephant Seal did cause some excitement of a natural kind, took attention off the troubles and toils of daily life.

Shame yes, you have been put through life's wringer and just know that you are also in our prayers. Life has a way to work itself out and we hope that you will be back after dome time in a new normal.

They removed the seal in rhino lifter after first sedating it, and the released it many miles away in order to return to its own arctic oceans. But here is the twist in the tail. The seal returned and it landed once again in Simon's Town. It is a youngster, and it is said that when they come out on dry land, it is said that they do this to rest and to molt.

Yes, they already checked him when he was sedated for the move and declared him to be a healthy youngster.

I saw some of those sardine runs, and it's a crazy affair with crowds running around with buckets and bags all over the place. A guy even gave me a few to eat !LOL
