The twin 24 hour flowers have bloomed.
They grew on the same echinopsis plant that I posted HERE

We call them twins, and I have explained all about them in my previous Echinopis flower post. I repeat that they only last for 24 hours. The first post only had one flower, that died the following day, but two is always better than one, and we were delighted to immerse our senses in their beauty.
Last season we had most of the plants flowering, or was that the season before? What I know is, we had something like 26 of the plants blooming at the same time.
There you can see the two short grey stalks protruding from the main cactus.
At their feet lay the first dead echinopsis flower.
What a beauty.
And this one also.
Two beauties.
Twins, as I said.
Now we are waiting for the rest of the echinopsis plants to start blooming, and you can see there is a lot of them.
And finally, this is what the twins looked like later in the day.
Always a sad sight to see that the flowers have died. Fleeting beauty indeed, as they only last for 24 hours. I don't have the heart to cut one of them off, and to put them into the fridge in order to try to save the beauty, as it might not last. So, we just have to get used to the golden moments that we see them in full bloom. As humans we also regularly have golden moments in our lives that never last, but we have learned to appreciate those moments and their experiences. This was again a moment like that.
Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the post.

Wow, they look so beautiful. Although it feels bad to see these flowers withering like this, but this is life, only when these flowers wither will new ones bloom. :)
Beautiful indeed. We are used to see them withering, and you are right as there are already two new ones starting up :)

Ah the bittersweet celebration of the fleeting blooms! While it is sad to see them go, if they were always there,, then the blooming would not be so special. I really love the tough harsh cacti that throw out a soft and delicate bloom when the season is right as a celebration of its health.
Enjoy the moments of beauty while they are here and choose happiness in those moments.
Very special moments, and we are blessed to see them every season that they appear my friend. Plenty thorns on that plant, and we had many pricks when we planted them. We take them with us every time when we move to another place, and all that they need is to be planted in the sunlight. Another two have already started to grow new flower stems.
