The heavens leaked sunrays. Part 1.

I will share ten shots of the sunset here and ten in Part 2.

A long wait but so worth it, and you will see below what I mean.

We are addicted to sunrays at sunset, as they add character to so many pictures. It would have been okay to only take the sunset on the sea with the mountains in the background, which I have done before, but the photos that I take from a distance include so much more beauty. Very much the same thing as the moon, as the further the distance the better the shots. That's just my way of thinking about it, and I have a zoom on my camera that can prove it.

Coffee is a must have at the times of sunsets like this, as in-between the sips one can stand and meditate. So much to think about when one takes stills like this. The natural artwork takes one's breath away, and just the thought of creation is way too intense for my wee little brain to figure out. Absolutely stunning to comprehend in its sheer fulness. The strong wind that played around with the clouds increased the power of the shows.
Come and have a look.

Its Sunday, so kick off your shoes so that the rays can lick your toes while you watch the show.

The rays also started to climb upwards, but I was expecting that as the sun was dropping slowly behind the cloud. When the sun enters the cloud it casts the rays downward, and as the sun sinks down it also starts to throw the rays upwards.

Something like this below is what you will see in Part 2.
195.JPG

It was a fairly long process before it was all over, and in the last picture you can see the little bit of the sun, as that was all that I could get before it dropped behind the cloud below. I did not mind as I have gotten the full sun many times before, and there will also be other sunsets where I will get the full sun on camera. I think that cloudy sunsets are the best as so many colors emerge when the clouds trap the sun.

The weather service reckons that it will be a stormy system across the inland provinces, and warnings are out for flooding and damages. Our temperatures are also on the up as we are now starting to touch the 30C's and I saw in other areas that the heat is approaching the early 40C's. So, the days are heating up fast, and the UV Rays are, as usual, a big danger, especially for fair skinned souls. The blazing African sun is well known across the world.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Thank you for the compliment, and just a pity that I could only get a tiny section of the sun in the last shot.
