The day after...

...the storm clouds left overnight, and we had some lovely blue skies.

It felt like it was an apology from nature for the storm views yesterday, (See the previous post).

In any case I decided to make the best of things, as the moon was still on its way down, and I took advantage of the show, to play a bit with the moon. Then I also have some other views of the day for you to enjoy. Isn't it amazing how the sky can lift one's mood? It does that for me at least, as I have a passion for nature, and it can really control my feelings when I see something that sparks my interest. At 13C now it is cold outside, but we have seen many winters, and we have learned to cope with it. The one thing that I don't like about winter is that it makes me sneeze, so hard at times that it wants to blow my ears off. Lol.
Enough about me and come and watch the show.

A cloud was approaching the moon.

And then it swallowed it.

But another cloud lifted it out :)

A view down the road from us.

Two shots of sunrays below, and they are some of my favorite views, as it always conjures up a magical sense in my mind. Time consuming to wait for the rays to appear at the edge of a cloud, but the resulting views are always so worth the wait. Yeah, I know that the winter rays are not as brilliant as the summer ones, but nevertheless they are still beautiful.

That cloud bird was going to swallow the sun.

And finally, the ending below of a beautiful day.

They say that these are cold colors and I have to agree as during summer the cloud colors are brighter.

But it is still beautiful.

So, on one day we have severe storm clouds and very strong winds, and then the very next day looks like this. What a change and this is so typical of the Cape Province, as it is at the southern tip of the African continent. Open to all of the windy assaults from the Atlantic Ocean, at the one side and the Indian Ocean on the other side. Almost in a vice grip between the two oceans, but luckily, we have the mountains that protect us from any inland storms although they are rare as most of the storms arrive from the ocean.

I was so happy to get that tag picture as I saw the two birds coming along and it seemed that they are flying at the level of the moon, so I waited. I didn't get what I wanted, as I thought that the moon would be between the two birds, and I clicked a split second too late, else the top bird would have been full on the moon. But in any case, I liked the shot. The sky is big and wide, and rare that a person would see things travelling or flying across the moon. But it is always a challenge for me.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

A fantastic way to reinterpret nature, the colors of the clouds and their effect!

You sure caught some nice shots there today, glad the storm passed by from yesterday. Although still a bit chilly it did provide some beautiful cloud formations. And you even got a couple birds in there today as well!

I have always loved how the sun rays appear from behind clouds, it's an amazing thing to see! A reminder of just how small we really are in this world, and you can see the majestic power of the sun in the rays of light. And then at sunset they produce such beautiful colors. Nature is a beautiful thing for those who take the time to enjoy it, sadly, far too few of us really ever do until it's too late!

The moon is a fascinating thing as well isn't it? Odd to think in just a couple years time people may be living there full time. Humanity's first step towards becoming a multiplanetary species. Just imagine how things might be in two hundred years from now!

So you live right down on the Cape of Good Hope? What a cool place to live, where two oceans meet! I have been to Cape Horn in South America where the Atlantic and Pacific meet, it was cold, but very cool! I hope the weather holds up for you and doesn't bring more storms you way soon...
