The beauty of a sunset on the mountains.

Nature was emblazoned on the rocky peaks, and the clouds made a difference.
409.jpg

At times when the sun sets behind a cloud line above the sea, then the sunset colors appear inland.

In this case it started to light up the mountain range in the east, and it was a wonderful show. Remember that the sun always sets in the west, and the mountain range is in the east. There were lines of clouds all over the sky, and you will see how the cloudy lines transformed the pictures in here. So, take a little bit of time to come and see the beauty in nature.

A burst of clouds was lingering on the mountains, and a wind blew it along to create a lovely contrast, not only in color but also in a dramatic show above the mountain tops. Not only the narrow line that you can see in the first picture, but rather a beautiful cloudy bow that stretches higher up across the mountain peaks. So, come and have a look at the wonders of nature.

I saw this at home, and I knew that something was up.

Look at that, as we were on the road to get a better view of the sunset on the mountains.

The clouds above the mountains started to expand.

Here, below, was the best shot that I could get of that top cloud.
415.JPG

As we started the drive back home, I got one last shot, and the hill spoilt it a little bit but the clouds were still so lovely to see.
417.JPG

A late Pied Crow was also on its way home. Look how the sun shines on his tummy.
419.JPG

And finally, this is what things looked like when we arrived at home. The sea is behind those bushes, and I told you that there were lines of clouds in the sky. The sun must have sunk behind one of those cloudy lines where it was reflected inland on the mountains.

So many wonders here, and there is always something for a photographer to look at. We are planning our first three-day trip for this year, and we cannot go too far as I have to be near to a hospital, preferably our own hospital at home. So, an hour or three will be the limit for this trip. But then again, all the hospitals have the patient's history online, so if we go to an area with a hospital, then we will be okay for an emergency.

In the meantime, there is much more for me to see here, and we will just continue to explore. We are a bit jealous, as we are in a cold front again with a temperature that averages 13 - 17 C, and higher up in the country they have temperatures of 25 - 30 C. But we take comfort in the fact that the cold fronts will soon stop coming in and then our own sweltering days will also return. That's just the way of the weather over here.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

You are right, as it is certainly individual views. But in my view, beauty surrounds us all, and it's only a matter of looking at it to appreciate it :)

Phenomenal microclimate that exists in those mountains and causes the formation of those types of clouds excellently captured by you!

I struggle with my camera to take shots at night, except moon shots, as I get them fairly clear.

Having spent time in the mountains, I sure miss them when seeing your shots. Especially the sunsets.

Each land has its beauty I suppose but we have rolling hills at the best of times around here.

So great to share your adventures and a 3-day trip into that wonderful landscape sounds amazing even if the temperatures are a bit low. I have a 3-day adventure up in cottage country for a music festival so we will have to compare pictures!

Glad that my shots can remind you of the mountains, and yeah, I saw that hills over there now. We will be visiting some of my old camera hunting grounds, and the best of it will be hopefully sunrises on the ocean, and if I am lucky also some rainbows. But one never knows, as the views can change drastically. So yeah, let's compare.

What a beautiful story to go along with the photos. I really liked how you explained the light from the sunset reflecting inland onto the eastern mountains, it made me picture the scene clearly even before looking at the photos. The cloud shapes over the peaks look dramatic and peaceful at the same time. Nature truly gives us endless surprises, even close to home. Thank you for sharing this moment.

Thank you for the compliments, and I am glad that you liked my explanation of the sunset's movements. The clouds added extra character to the images.
Have a good day.
