Sunset and the full Harvest moon. 1.

I will share the sunset first, and then the moon in a second post.

If you think that the sunset post is beautiful, then wait until you see the full moon post coming soon.

All of the photos were taken by me on the same day, the 5th of October. I saw the clouds, and so we travelled up to a high spot for me to get the sunset. Rich golden clouds above the mountains that frame the ocean. Those same clouds grew in intensity later when I got the moon shots. I was so happy to get our first summer sunset shots, as previously the sky was covered by a blanket of clouds every day. But thankfully, not on this day, as everything just seemed to fall in place.

The clouds jealously covered the sun as it dropped down behind the mountain.

No ways for me to get the full sun, as you can see how the clouds covered it. Even though a strong breeze was active, the sun seemed to draw the clouds like a magnet to cover it. Maybe it was scared of my camera as it's wife, Lady moon would later accuse it of taking selfies:)

This picture below was the best that I could get of the sun.

The sun peeped at me from behind the mountain, and then it was gone.

And finally, let me give you a teaser below of the full moon shots, that I got later in the day.

So, what can I say about this event, except that it was a real dramatic show. Nature loves to show its power, but also its serenity. I could only stand and watch it all as it unfolded. In Africa, most everything is big and bold, and this sunset occasion just seemed to accentuate that fact. In my mind, the best sunsets to take on camera, are those with big and hulking clouds loitering around in the sky.

The drama enters one's soul, and beauty is simply incomparable, especially in the silence of the moments. Our summer sunsets display the raw and rugged appearance if one can compare it to the finesse of the high building outlines on the shore front. All neat and tidy at this end, and all a beautiful flowing mish mash at the sunset side. The 5th photo is my favorite, and I so wish that I could paint, but sadly that is not one of my fortes.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

I completely agree that interesting clouds and sunset are the best possible combination. It's nice to see this connection in your photos. You keep the naturalness of this phenomenon in these photos. Have a nice day :)

Nature is stunning, and I try to show the connection, as it adds character to one's photos. Just goes to show that unedited photos can also show nature in all of its beautiful pride.
A good day also to you!

There are no words to express what one feels before these heavens; I imagine what it would be like to be there.
In Venezuela we often have such skies and they are inspiring.
Thank you for sharing them, @papilloncharity

The way the clouds play hide and seek with the sun, only to let the full moon later steal the show.😍 Great shots!
